History: (Marvel Disk Wars: The Avengers cartoon
series - "The Earth Destruction Stratagem!" (fb) - BTS) - Scientist
Prof. Bridget Chan founded the Gaia Line theory, a theory based on
ancient Chinese feng shui in which the Earth was a single living
organism with Gaia lines running through it like blood vessels. She
became the leading authority on the Gaia Line theory and soon gained
the attention of Hydra, who kidnapped her.
(Marvel Disk Wars: The Avengers cartoon
series - "The Earth Destruction Stratagem!" (fb)) - Hydra forced Prof.
Chan to perform horrific research into her Gaia Line theory, intending
to use Chan's research to destroy the planet.
(Marvel Disk Wars: The Avengers cartoon
series - "The Earth Destruction Stratagem!") - Six months later, the
heroic Hawkeye and Falcon broke into the Hydra facility housing Prof.
Bridget Chan and managed to free her but they were discovered by Hydra.
Feeling as if Prof. Chan had served her purpose, Hydra ordered their
soldiers to shoot the intruders on sight. Under fire from Hydra,
Hawkeye protected Prof. Chan and told her to run for it when he gave
the signal. He then fired an explosive arrow to distract the Hydra
agents and exclaimed for her to move it as he held off the remaining
agents. Prof. Chan did as she was instructed and ran for her life as
Hawkeye informed Falcon via commlink that Chan was heading his way. As
Hawkeye battled Crossbones, Prof. Chan made her way to the rooftop,
where she was met by Falcon, who got Prof. Chan to S.H.I.E.L.D. A short
time later, Prof. Chan joined Nick Fury and Maria Hill in meeting with
a group of children that owned the DISK technology housing the trapped
Avengers. At the meeting, Prof. Chan introduced herself to the digital
Avengers and explained her theory of Gaia Lines to the Avengers and the
DISK biocode-wielding children. Further explaining her kidnapping by
Hydra and the research she was forced to do, Prof. Chan admitted that
Hawkeye had managed to rescue her but began crying when she thought of
Hawkeye, who had seemingly sacrificed his life to save hers. The
meeting was soon interrupted by the Red Skull, who hacked
S.H.I.E.L.D.'s computers to announce a mole within S.H.I.E.L.D. that
had led to the foreknowledge of Hawkeye and Falcon's rescue of Prof.
Chan and then asked the combined heroes what they thought would happen
if a deadly poison was injected into Earth's Gaia Lines. Chan then
watched on the computers as Red Skull revealed his Dimension Sphere
energy source, which he intended to use to destroy the Earth by using
the Dimension Sphere to corrupt the Gaia Lines.
Once the Avengers were determined to stop the Red
Skull's Earth Destruction Stratagem, Prof. Chan informed the
biocode-wielding children that the Gaia Lines would be most active at
midnight that night and remained present as Nick Fury informed the
children that the Avengers would have to defeat the Red Skull's five
Masters of Evil that were empowered by the Dimension Sphere. She
remained by Fury's side as "Pepper" Potts presented the children with
Stark teleportation technology to customize to their Build Up Armor in
hopes of giving them an edge against the Red Skull's Masters of Evil.
Falcon soon interrupted them all, announcing that it was time for the
children and their digital Avengers partners to move out. Chan then
watched as the five children split up and departed the S.H.I.E.L.D.
Helicarrier to stop Red Skull's Masters of Evil.
