History: (X-Men Millennial Visions - "X-Punks"
(fb) - BTS) - After the passage of the Mutant Rights Legislation Act,
mutants were assimilated into society and became the country's greatest
natural resource. With mutants no longer perscuted, the X-Men as well
as other radical fringe groups disbanded but the gap between the rich
and poor continued to grow, eventually leading to persecution of the
homeless.
(X-Men Millennial Visions - "X-Punks") - Born into urban squalor and feeling the need to protect their turf, a group of mutant street kids banded together and refused to allow themselves to be exploited as a resource for society. Protecting those unable to protect themselves, the street kids took pleasure into codenaming themselves after X-Men, mutants once idolized but now disdained. Together, Iceman, Angel, Rogue and Beast became urban guerilla warriors.
(X-Men Millennial Visions 2001 - "Exiles: Static
Problematic" (fb) - BTS) - The X-Punks' Beast was pulled from his
reality into the Exiles, a team of reality-hopping mutants led by the
armless Blink of Earth-1026. Using the Staff of Wallach X together with
the Tallus device, the Exiles jumped from one reality to another.
Comments: Created by Keith Giffen and Art Thibert.
A version of the X-Punks' Beast was part of a group
of mutants led by Cyclops that attacked Professor W's X-Men on
Earth-2182, as seen in Exiles I#41-42. Thanks to Jim Calafiore, the
artist on the X-Men Millennial Visions 2001 Exiles story and the
writer/artist on Exiles I#41-42, for confirming that the Beast in
Exiles I#41-42 was actually the Earth-2182 counterpart of Earth-902's
Beast and not actually Earth-902 Beast himself!
Oh, and to clarify, Iceman is the silver spiky guy,
Rogue is the Indian woman, Angel is the energy being with the halo and
Beast is the gray-skinned, tough-looking guy.
Profile by Proto-Man.
