History:
(X-Men Unlimited II#10/1 - BTS) - After realizing she was a mutant, Jaime enrolled at Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters where her newfound teleportation powers earned her the codename Elsewhere.
(X-Men Unlimited II#10/1 (fb) - BTS) - After spending some time at the school, Elsewhere concluded Xavier's wasn't for her because she felt most of the other students were freaks. She decided to drop out at the end of the semester.
(X-Men Unlimited II#10/1) - Fed up, Elsewhere tried to skip fourth period but got caught by Henry McCoy who noticed her attempt to sneak away. In his role as substitute guidance counselor, McCoy wanted to know what Elsewhere was doing. Picking up the books she'd dropped, McCoy noticed her diary and asked if Jaime would mind sharing her thoughts and feelings on why she wanted to drop out. Unwilling to open up, Elsewhere claimed she had places to be and left.
Later that day Elsewhere still showed up for English class, to find McCoy was substituting for Emma Frost who was off on a mission with the X-Men. Hank asked the student codenamed Pinocchio to recite the poem from the previous lesson, which he did with appropriate style and flair. Inspired, Elsewhere offered to go next and read her prose piece called "Like Maybe on the Moon". Captured by her words McCoy commented it was very interesting and asked that she would see him after class after which he asked Koren to recite his poem. After class McCoy explained Elsewhere she had a real talent with the written word and since she'd mentioned dropping out he suggested to look into a creative writing program and send out college applications instead. Overjoyed by the idea Elsewhere and McCoy worked all night to prepare an application for Pratt after which Elsewhere thanked McCoy for his help.
(X-Men Unlimited II#10/1 (fb) - BTS) - A few weeks later Elsewhere received a rejection letter from Pratt and decided to confront McCoy with it.
(X-Men Unlimited II#10/1) - Elsewhere found McCoy in his office after he'd just had a less than pleasant confrontation with the squabbling students Lipid and Protozoa. McCoy stepped out of his office to greet the mad Elsewhere who told him "thanks for nothing" for helping her get rejected. McCoy tried to calm her, telling there were other, worthwhile schools to consider. Unwilling to listen, Elsewhere spit back that she'd just live a mediocre life and become a really unsuccessful guidance counselor like McCoy. She then teleported away, leaving McCoy behind to rethink his position as a counselor.
