History: (Vision & the Scarlet Witch II#12 (fb) –
BTS) – Brady Kent was a
paid assassin for the Boston mob, who was killed on an assignment after
making
a mistake.
(West Coast Avengers II#2 (fb) – BTS) – Grim
Reaper formed a
new Lethal Legion, consisting of Ultron-12, Black Talon, his girlfriend
Nekra
and Man-Ape, with plans to add Goliath to the roster. Grim Reaper,
grief
stricken over the loss of his brother Simon Williams, put together a
complicated plot to restore his brother to life. Not believing that
Wonder Man
was actually Simon yet also knowing that the Vision had the same brain
patterns as Simon, Reaper grew determined to record the brains of both
men and
delete any information that was contained in both. He would filter them
through
the computers of Ultron-12 then upload them into a corpse (that of
Brady Kent)
that would be reanimated by Black Talon.
(Vision and the Scarlet Witch II#1) – Vision and
Scarlet
Witch saw Brady Kent's corpse and thought it was Wonder Man. Vision
threatened
the form to get the Lethal Legion to peacefully leave, ending their
fight.
(West Coast Avengers II#2) – Black Talon kept
Kent's corpse
ready for the transfer.
(Vision and the Scarlet Witch II#2) – The Lethal
Legion
prepared Kent's body for the transfer but the west coast Avengers, with
allies
Vision, Scarlet Witch and Hank Pym, stopped them. Grim Reaper fell to
his
death, Goliath was captured and the others escaped.
(Vision and the Scarlet Witch II#12 (fb) – BTS) –
Nekra kept
the corpse of Brady Kent and that of Grim Reaper then spent months
learning
voodoo rights to reanimate the dead.
Comments: Created by Steve Englehart, Allen
Milgrom and Joe Sinnott.
Brady Kent never learned he was a reanimated corpse on panel but I'm going to presume he figured it out after the Grim Reaper's discovery. This has to be one of the strangest characters in modern lore: a dead assassin given plastic surgery to resemble Wonder Man in order to be resurrected to house the composite intellect of two heroes to fulfill the plans of an insane villain, later resurrected as a Rambo-wannabe.
