History:
(Osborn#1/1 (fb) ) - A demonic entity who became
known as the Kingmaker, Pryor Cashman used his memory manipulation
abilities to mold people into dictators. At some point, the Kingmaker was
captured and incarcerated in a secret undersea prison, the Special
Containment Center, where he shared a cellblock with deranged biochemist
June Covington, spectral stalker Carny Rives, alien Xirdal, and chimeric
god Ai Apaec. He befriended all of them, and was distraught when Rives
disappeared.
(Osborn#1/1) - Officer Peter Martin brought prison chaplain Father Coulmier to the cell block; Coulmier informed the prisoners that Rives had died, distressing them.
(Osborn#2) - During an alarm drill, Cashman and the other prisoners taunted Officer Martin, resulting in him stumbling into Ai Apaec's clutches. They convinced him to ask the control center to open Covington's cell, but when they refused, Apaec killed Martin. Osborn, who had been at a counseling session, returned, and offered to let the others out, with Coulmier's aid. Cashman initially blanched at Osborn's demand that they follow his orders until they escaped the prison, but he and the others eventually agreed to follow him. Xirdal objected, however, and Kingmaker conveyed her unwillingness to be led by a murderer to Osborn. Osborn led her into a trap and ejected her into the ocean.
(Osborn#3) - En route to their escape, the escapees found the other inmates of the prison rioting. Cashman was set upon by a pair of Dark Faeries; to get rid of them, he altered their memories, making each one think that the only way to escape was to kill the other. He and Covington watched as Osborn battled a massive inmate, then rallied the crowd to his side.
(Osborn#4) - After watching another Osborn speech to the inmates, Cashman mocked Ai Apaec, angering him. He then joined Osborn, Covington, Ai Apaec, and reporter Norah Winters in finding a submarine escape pod. They couldn't access it without a code, but Carny Rives (who hadn't died, after all) opened the pod from the inside, allowing them all to get inside. As they launched, Coulmier sabotaged the prison, destroying it and covering their escape.
(Osborn#5) - The escape craft tumbled in the shock wave, but Ai Apaec stabilized it from the water, saving Cashman and the others.
(Osborn#5 (fb) ) - Cashman altered Winters' memories, making her think that she'd found Osborn in a South American prison.
(Osborn#5) - Cashman relocated to a tropical beach, where he enjoyed the company of numerous children.
Comments: Created by Kelly Sue DeConnick and Emma Rios.
Cashman is consistently drawn as being moist. I'm not sure if he's constantly secreting, like, devil mucus, or if he's just a really sweaty dude.
Given that he's a demon, Pryor Cashman presumably isn't
his real name - although he could be a human who transformed into a
demon, or Cashman could be the name of his host.
