Eh-Yuh allowed their possessor to travel back to a specific moment in
time and space but only allowed the user to do so in astral form. Each
time the Lost Bones were used, however, they lost more and more of
their power.
History: (Doctor Strange & the Sorcerers Supreme I#1) - When Dr. Strange defeated the extradimensional Qu'vin the Malevolent with the help of Camelot sorcerer Merlin, Strange cut into Qu'vin with his axe and found the Lost Bones of Eh-Yuh. Retrieving them as Qu'vin disappeared in a field of mystic fire, Dr. Strange remarked that the Lost Bones should never have belonged to Qu'vin.
(Doctor Strange & the Sorcerers Supreme I#6) -
Still retaining the Lost Bones after being exiled interdimensionally by
a mystic trap set by Sir Isaac Newton, Dr. Strange sought to save his
fellow Sorcerers Supreme by projecting his astral form in conjunction
with the Lost Bones into the other dimensions trapping the other
Sorcerers. After successfully rescuing Yao, Dr. Strange located Nina the
Conjuror but Yao was quickly pulled into another dimension, where both
Nina and Yao were killed by goblin-like creatures, forcing Strange to
use the Lost Bones to travel back in time, diverging those events into
reality-17546.
Trying once more, Strange again rescued Yao and the
two located the adult Wiccan but Yao was again pulled into another
dimension, where the goblin-like creatures killed Yao and Wiccan,
forcing Strange to again use the Lost Bones to start over in his rescue
attempts, diverging these deaths into reality-41919. This time rescuing Kushala and Wiccan first, Strange found
that Wiccan was pulled into another dimension, where green and
black-striped beings killed both Wiccan and Kushala, again forcing
Strange to use the Lost Bones to start over, diverging Wiccan and
Kushala's deaths into reality-11481.
Strange's fourth attempt involved rescuing Kushala first then saving Nina the Conjuror but they were all pulled into a dimension where a being resembling a cat/fish/spider hybrid killed Nina and Kushala, and impaled Dr. Strange's astral form with one of its legs. Before his own death, Dr. Strange yet again utilized the Lost Bones of Eh-Yuh to reverse time, this time diverging the battle into reality-31458. In another attempt, Dr. Strange successfully rescued Yao and Kushala before the trio located Nina but they were all devoured by jaws that seemed to spring from the ground and, from inside the mouth, Strange was able to use the Lost Bones to start over yet again, diverging these deaths into reality-24115. Strange's next rescue attempt was mostly successful until the Sorcerers located Yao, who was soon killed by goblin-like creatures again, forcing Strange to again use the Lost Bones to reverse events, diverging Yao's death into reality-10181.
Finally realizing that he would meet with failure in
almost attempt to rescue his comrades and noticing that the Lost Bones
of Eh-Yuh's power had almost completely been used up, Dr. Strange
decided to rescue himself first this time around and succeeded in
subsequently rescuing the entire group of Sorcerers Supreme, soon
arriving back at the Forgotten's prison where they had originally been
banished from.
