(Spidey Super Stories#42/4 (fb) - BTS) - Magic Wanda,
known to Spider-Man, managed to secretly steal almost all the books
from the New York Public Library and load them on a truck. Valerie the
librarian was initially unaware of the crime.
(Spidey Super Stories#42/4) - Peter Parker and
Valerie discovered the grand book theft. Parker secretly changed into
Spider-Man and saw Magic Wanda with her truck full of books and rushed
outside to stop her, but she used her magic pencil to bring a lion
statue to life. While Spidey was distracted taking the webbed lion to
the zoo, Magic Wanda tried to hide inside a giant book after loading the
books onto train carriages, but Spider-Man, accompanied by Easy Reader,
found her. She fled and tried to get the train moving, but Spider-Man's
webbing prevented it from starting. Later, with the books returned,
Magic Wanda took her borrowing card from Valerie under the watchful eye
of Spider-Man, apparently all forgiven.
