History: (Doctor Strange & the Sorcerers Supreme I#5 (fb) - BTS) - Earth sorcerer Doctor Doom sent an army of his Doombots to seek information from Dark Dimension sorcerer Jowath, who resided in the Never Hills, an area of the Dark Dimension that was never-ending and known for never making sense. Another Earth sorcerer, Sir Isaac Newton, arrived shortly after, seeking to learn about the mystic Word of God tome from Jowath, only to find Jowath under attack by the Doombots. When the Doombots succeeded in capturing Jowath, the Never Hills began changing to suit the Doombots' rule, creating a citadel resembling Doctor Doom's facemask and prompting Newton to summon the Dark Dimension's Walking Death Gardens to assist in rescuing Jowath.

(Doctor Strange & the Sorcerers Supreme I#5 (fb)) - When yet another Earth sorcerer, Dr. Strange, and his ally, Dark Dimension sorceress Clea, arrived to search for the mushrooms in the Never Hills, they saw and destroyed Newton's Walking Death Gardens before realizing Newton had summoned them to aid against the Doombots. Agreeing to help, Strange, Clea and Newton fought for days in the ever-changing, never-ending Never Hills until they had managed to make it to the Doombots' citadel, where Strange and Newton freed Jowath, who destroyed all of the Doombots with a spell from the Word of God before dying. Jowath's funeral was held in the Never Hills and the overall event became known as the Battle of Never Hills.
