History: (Amazing Spider-Man: Who Am I?#5 - (fb) ) - The Profit, a telepathic super-criminal, enslaved Spider-Man to join his gang. Unbeknownst to the Profit, however, Spider-Man had been sent by SHIELD's Maria Hill to infiltrate the Profit's operations.
(Amazing Spider-Man: Who Am I?#2 (fb) - BTS) - The Profit sent Spider-Man, accompanied by the Profit's goons Larry, Curly, and Moe, to rob a bank. During the robbery, the Profit took control of a guard, using him to warn Spider-Man that "The Profit is watching you".
(Amazing Spider-Man: Who Am I?#1 - BTS) - After the bank robbery, the Profit telepathically contacted one of the goons and told him to have Spider-Man kill their hostage.
(Amazing Spider-Man: Who Am I?#2-3 - BTS) - The Profit sent Spider-Man and the henchmen to steal the memory-erasing Frederickson-Fumark Machine from a Stark Industries facility, during which Spider-Man fought and defeated, but refused to kill, Iron Man.
(Amazing Spider-Man: Who Am I?#4) - The Profit telepathically appeared to Spider-Man, summoning him to his warehouse base, but Spider-Man had begun to regain his memories, realizing that his collaboration with the villain was a ruse. The Profit decided to wipe Spider-Man's mind and start again.
(Amazing Spider-Man: Who Am I?#5-6 - BTS) - To power the F-F Machine, which ran on uncut diamonds, the Profit sent Spider-Man, Larry, Curly, and Moe to rob a jewelry store; they took the nearby Mary Jane Watson as a hostage and brought her back to their hideout.
(Amazing Spider-Man: Who Am I?#7) - The Profit hired the Tinkerer to modify the F-F Machine; before long, another Spider-Man (secretly Daredevil in disguise) broke in, battled Spider-Man, and escaped with Mary Jane. The Profit contacted Spider-Man to inquire about the incident.
(Amazing Spider-Man: Who Am I?#8) - As Spider-Man tried to clear his mind, the Profit entered it. He learned that Spider-Man had been sent by SHIELD, then turned Spider-Man's memories against him, seemingly defeating him and wiping all of his memories.
(Amazing Spider-Man: Who Am I?#9) - The amnesiac Spider-Man woke up and fled; the Profit sent his henchmen after him. The Profit telepathically sensed him in a homeless squatter's camp; he dispatched his men there to kill everyone - except for Spider-Man.
(Amazing Spider-Man: Who Am I?#10) - Having retrieved Spider-Man (at the cost of Moe), Larry and Curly returned Spider-Man to the Profit. He offered Spider-Man a deal: one more mission, and he would restore Spider-Man's memories - but erase all of his memories of the Profit. Spider-Man agreed, and the Profit sent him to the Daily Bugle.
(Amazing Spider-Man: Who Am I?#11) - When Spider-Man tried to disrupt the plan while he, Larry, and Curly headed up to the Bugle's roof to plant the F-F Machine there, the Profit interrupted him, and forced him to continue. They hooked the machine up to the transmitters on the Bugle's roof, and activated it...
(Amazing Spider-Man: Who Am I#12) - As Spider-Man regained control of himself and moved to destroy the machine, the Profit tried to mentally command him to stop, but Spider-Man overwhelmed him and damaged it. The Profit then revealed to Spider-Man that he had come to the Bugle's roof himself. He paralyzed Spider-Man, then repaired the device, but Spider-Man shook off his domination again and beat him up. The Profit taunted him, knowing that Spider-Man wouldn't kill him; instead, however, Spider-Man used the device to project his own traumatic childhood memories into the Profit, leaving him frozen with sadness. SHIELD soon arrived, and took the Profit, Larry, and Curly into custody.

I assume the Profit's name is a play on "prophet", but spelled "profit" because he's a greedy criminal.
The Profit says his mask is a "family heirloom". Maybe he's from a long line of psychics?
Amazing Spider-Man: Who Am I? is a little hard to place in continuity - Iron Man's wearing his Mark 42 armor, but the Daily Bugle is still housed in a skyscraper...I think it basically fits, though.

CLARIFICATIONS:
The Profit has no known connections to:
(Amazing Spider-Man: Who Am I?#2 (fb) / Amazing Spider-Man: Who Am I?#1) - Henchmen for the telepathic criminal known only as the Profit, Larry, Curly, and Moe robbed a bank with a Profit-brainwashed Spider-Man. With the police arriving, they took a hostage and escaped. The Profit ordered them to kill their hostage, and they made Spider-Man push her off a building.
(Amazing Spider-Man: Who Am I?#2) - The henchmen, having failed to notice Spider-Man saving the hostage with a webline, went back to their hideout. One of them got in a fight with Spider-Man, and was quickly defeated. Later, they invaded a Stark facility.
(Amazing Spider-Man: Who Am I?#3) - While Spider-Man distracted Iron Man, Larry, Curly, and Moe broke into the facility to steal the memory-erasing Frederickson-Fumark Machine.
(Amazing Spider-Man: Who Am I?#5) - While bickering amongst themselves, the henchmen summoned Spider-Man to try and figure out how to turn on the F-F Machine. He determined that it needed more of its power source - diamonds. To get them, the henchmen robbed a jewelry store.
(Amazing Spider-Man: Who Am I?#6) - When the police arrived, the henchmen took Mary Jane Watson (who had been in the store) as a hostage and took off in their van. They were displeased at Spider-Man's insistence that she not be harmed.
(Amazing Spider-Man: Who Am I?#7) - Larry, Curly, and Moe took the F-F Machine to the Tinkerer, who modified it. Suddenly, they were attacked by another Spider-Man (actually Daredevil in disguise), who handily defeated them. The other Spider-Man escaped with Mary Jane.
(Amazing Spider-Man: Who Am I?#9) - When Spider-Man, having been freshly mind-wiped, escaped, the Profit sent his henchmen after the web-slinger. They wanted to kill him, but the Profit insisted he be left alive. The Profit, sensing Spider-Man's presence in an underground homeless settlement, dispatched the trio there.
(Amazing Spider-Man: Who Am I?#10) - The trio told Spider-Man that if he didn't come with them, they'd burn the settlement to the ground. Moe took a child hostage, but Spider-Man intimidated him into letting the boy go, then beat him to a pulp. Larry and Curly took Spider-Man to the Profit, leaving Moe to the mercies of the vengeful homeless people.
(Amazing Spider-Man: Who Am I?#11) - Larry and Curly, disguised as delivery men, went with Spider-Man to the Daily Bugle building, where they planned to attach the F-F Machine to its transmitters. While in the elevator up to the roof, Spider-Man rebelled and attacked the henchmen, but he relented after having damaged the elevator, making them climb the rest of the way. Donning tinfoil hats to shield themselves from the machine's effects, Larry and Curly activated the machine...
(Amazing Spider-Man: Who Am I?#12) - The foil proved ineffective, and Larry and Curly fell victim to the machine; catatonic, they were powerless to stop Spider-Man from smashing it. They regained their memories (Larry remembering his late mother, specifically), just in time for SHIELD to arrest them.
Larry is the bald white guy, Curly is the heavyset white guy with a goatee, and Moe is the black guy with glasses.
