History: (Scarlet Spider II#3) - Smithy and his fellow Assassins Guild members Deadhand and Harvester stood by as an assassin told their leader, Bella Donna Boudreaux, of his failure to kill Dr. Donald Meland in Houston - thanks to the interference of Guild enemy Kaine.

(Scarlet Spider II#4) - The Smithy and Deadhand attacked Kaine (now the costumed Scarlet Spider) in downtown Houston.  The Smithy shot at Kaine, but the Spider used the undead Deadhand as a human shield. After the Spider tossed Deadhand aside, the Smithy battled him atop a speeding commuter train. The Spider knocked Smithy's gun out of his hand, and before he could summon another, Kaine crushed both of the assassin's hands and knocked him off the train. Smithy and Deadhand caught up to him later, after he'd been cornered by their colleagues Harvester and Flower. Using his suit's stealth capabilities, the Spider soon took out three of the assassins, leaving Smithy the only one left standing. He summoned a gun, but with his broken hands couldn't pull the trigger. Defeated, he let the Spider take his phone and call Bella Donna, offering her a favor in the future in exchange for calling her men off. She agreed, and Smithy and the others teleported away.

(Scarlet Spider II#18 (fb) ) - Smithy and the rest of the Assassins Guild fell under the sway of the Red Death, an immortal mutant who demanded human sacrifices.

(Scarlet Spider II#17) - Smithy accompanied Bella Donna to Brennan's Restaurant in Houston, where they were to meet Kaine to call in their favour. Smithy suspected Kaine wouldn't show, but was proved wrong when the cloaked Scarlet Spider punched him in the back of the head, then stabbed him in the hand with one of his stingers. Bella Donna dismissed the injured and indignant assassin while she and Kaine discussed the favor.

(Scarlet Spider II#18) - Bella Donna and Smithy brought a victim, Murray, to the Guild's cathedral headquarters, where a Guild assassin killed him as a sacrifice to the Red Death. Later, when the Scarlet Spider and Wolverine attacked the cathedral, Smithy shot Wolverine, and nearly put an explosive round through his eye socket before the Spider pulled him to safety. The Spider then grabbed Bella Donna - Smithy pulled his guns on him but never got to finish his threat, as the Red Death arrived and impaled him through the chest with her tendrils to feed off his death energies.

(Scarlet Spider II#19) - The Smithy bled out and died on the cathedral floor as Kaine, Wolverine, and the assassins battled the Red Death.

I'm not sure if the Smithy is generating firearms, like Annex, or if he's just teleporting them in from a remote location.
