History:
(Spidey Super Stories#15/1) - Storm exercised the
special weather-controlling powers she had been born with.
(Spidey Super Stories#15/2) - The nefarious Mad
Scientist shrank
water from various places, intending to ransom it out. Spider-Man
contacted Storm for help
and she arrived quickly, carried by the winds into Pedro's greenhouse
alongside Maurice the sentient plant. The next day, she used her
weather powers to
refill Central Park Lake with rain. Spider-Man took photos and had them
published in the Daily Bugle newspaper the next day to taunt Mad
Scientist, baiting him into a trap. The water thief later arrived at
the lake with his assistant, Igor, to steal the water again, but was
tackled by Storm. Mad Scientist rushed into a webbed net and was
trapped. The villains and heroes were then caught in a natural rain
shower that Storm did not stop.
Comments: Created by Byron Preiss, Jim Salicrup & Jean Thomas (writers), Win Mortimer (pencils), Mike Esposito & Tony Mortellaro (inks).
Physical stats are taken from the Earth-616 version, as they look very much alike (except eye color).
She's described as having been "born with special
powers", so I'll ASSume that means mutant (although the term isn't used
on Earth-57780).
Along with many other characters, Storm appeared on the single-color back cover advert of Spidey Super Stories#52, showing that she too read Spidey Super Stories. Storm was pictured near noteworthy X-Men figures (on Earth-616) that look like Cyclops, Wolverine and Nightcrawler, so presumably the X-Men team also exist(ed) on Earth-57780.
