History:
(My Love II#15/1 (fb) - BTS) - Tripper enjoyed a
hedonistic lifestyle, consuming drugs and hosting drug-fueled parties.
At one gathering, he met Melissa and they were very quickly attracted
to each other, despite Melissa already having a boyfriend, the
conservative and safe Eric. Neither man liked the other, yet Melissa
felt drawn to the rebellious Tripper.
(My Love II#15/1) - Tripper commented that Melissa
was so stuck on the one man, Eric, and offered her different
opportunities from her conservative way of life. But she hesitated
until eventually deciding to break her relationship off with Eric after
moving in with Tripper. When she arrived, Tripper was hosting a music
party where people were already high and he behaved nonchalantly when
Melissa arrived. Concerned with his indifference, Melissa hoped Tripper
would change. But a guest, Arlene, collapsed on the floor; Tripper
ignored her. Melissa thought Arlene required medical attention, but
Tripper didn't want to attract trouble. Just then, Eric burst in,
having searched for Melissa and was concerned for her welfare. Eric called
an ambulance and he left with Melissa, now firm that she loved Eric,
not Tripper.

Fantastic evocative artwork by Gene Colan.
Tripper, his nickname, presumably alludes to the drug trips he seemed to be renown for. Kinda odd that his rival, straight-laced Eric, knew where he lived.
This story was later reprinted in Our Love Story#27
(February, 1974).
These romance stories often had the flavor of the time in which they were written, and nothing else to tie them into Marvel's sliding timescale. As such, it's likely that the stories took place at the time of publication rather than being part of the sliding timescale.

relationship with Eric the next day. However, she was surprised with
Tripper's indifferent attitude and drug-addled guests at his place.
Concerned, Melissa left Tripper, deciding to stay with Eric.
