History:
(Wild Western#39/2 (fb) - BTS) - A fierce gunslinger came to be known as the Banshee for the dead victims he left wailing across the plains. He brought law and order down hard to stop criminals, and was respected by some and feared by others for his gun skills and fearless demeanor.
He was later assigned to
replace Kurt Keaton as sheriff of the town of Riata, which had since
come under control by outlaw Satterlee and his gang of hidden killers.
On his way to Riata, the Banshee was set upon by Satterlee's men and
tied to a rack, his hands severely injured, and left to die out in the open.
(Wild Western#39/2) - The Two-Gun Kid chanced upon
the near-lifeless body of the Banshee and scared away the vultures. He
freed and revived the Banshee with water and medicinal herbs. The
Banshee asked that his injuries not be revealed and he was taken to a
doctor at Sawmill Gap, who patched him up, using white gauntlets to
partially heal his now-stiffened hands, although he would never be able to wield a gun again. Meanwhile, the Two-Gun Kid rode to
Riata and discovered that the Banshee was to be the new sheriff up
against Satterlee, who had now vowed to kill the Banshee before he
could reach Riata. Barely able to control his horse with his injured
hands, he rode fearlessly to Riata, expecting attacks from Satterlee's
marauders, but the Two-Gun Kid watched over him and stopped successive
attempts on the Banshee's life. The Banshee reached Riata and,
watched by the awed townsfolk, entered the saloon, knowing that
Satterlee and his remaining men waited there to gun him down. However,
again the Two-Gun Kid jumped in and saved him, gunning
down his cowardly foes. The Banshee strode out of the saloon and the
townsfolk were happy that Satterlee's murderous control had been ended
by the Banshee.

The Banshee may also have had a fearsome
reputation from his killer fashion sense.

CLARIFICATIONS
:
Banshee has no known connections to:
Satterlee was an outlaw crimelord who had taken
control of the town of Riata. He used his men to hide and gun down
opponents. Sheriff Kurt Keaton barely escaped with just an injured arm
thanks to the Two-Gun Kid's intervention, but this drew the ire of
Satterlee. Hearing that the Banshee was still on his way to Riata to
become the next sheriff, Satterlee had his men try to kill him on the
horse ride there, but the Two-Gun Kid stopped every attempt. Satterlee
waited in Riata's saloon for the Banshee (whose hands were too badly
injured to ever wield a gun again due to an earlier attack by
Satterlee's men) and drew his gun on him, but again the Two-Gun Kid
intervened, killing Satterlee and his men, ending the outlaw's lethal
menace.
