(X-Men: Hellfire Club#4 (fb)) - Alongside Sebastian
Shaw, Howard Stark, Warren Worthington Jr., novitiate John Braddock
declared his undying fealty to Hellfire and was inducted into the
American branch of the Hellfire Club in a ceremony over which Edward
Buckman presided.
Comments: Created by Ben Raab and Charlie Adlard.
I suspect that Ben Raab may have intended this character to be James Braddock Sr.,
the father of Captain Britain (Brian Braddock), Psylocke (Betsy
Braddock), and Jamie Braddock...however, the name was wrong, and as
James Braddock Sr. was the Black Bishop of the Inner Circle of the
Hellfire Club London, there is no reason for him to have been a
novitiate of the American branch. The James Braddock of Otherworld, at
least, had brown hair. I don't think we've seen the human/original
James Braddock (who was replaced sometime after World War II).
Given the different first names, and that Hellfire Club
members are inherited, I consider John Braddock to be a member of an American
branch of the Braddock family. Also, remember that their Captain Britain's father replaced the original James
Braddock after the original had died, so they aren't actually related to any other 616
Braddocks.
