History:
(X-Men Red#3 (fb) - BTS) - With anti-mutant protests at an all-time high, avian mutant Cara and her friends took to the streets of Louisiana to confront an angry mob.
(X-Men Red#3) - Seeing the angry protestors wielding torches (garden torches $12.99 a piece) Cara's friends urged her to stand down. Determined to stand up to them, Cara flew towards the group, introducing herself as Cara only to be met with hate as one of the protestors tried hitting her with his torch only to be stopped by the cajun hero Gambit. Using his ability to charge the torches with his kinetic energy, Gambit easily disarmed the mob. But as the protestors dispersed, one remained: David Bushell, a regular joe who'd been infected by a Sentinite (a Nano-Sentinel). Driven into a frenzy, Bushell pulled a gun on Cara, although Gambit managed to take the boy down Cara was critically injured, dying in the arms of her friend.
(X-Men Red#5 - BTS) - Cara's killer, Bushell was taken to the Louisiana Public Hospital where he remained under armed guard while ANB anchorman Harold Mason and his female co-host discussed the shooting, swaying public opinion to believe a dangerous mutant attacked a peaceful protest. Both Gambit and the X-Men infiltrated the Louisiana Public Hospital to learn why Bushell had killed Cara, learning he'd been infected by a Sentinite.
