History: (Inhumans I#1 (fb) – BTS) – In
Attilan, Stallior and Centarius
were appointed to guard the cell of Maximus the Mad. When Maximus began
ranting
about unseen dangers, the centaurs grew alarmed.
(Inhumans I#1) – Stallior and Centarius went to
the Royal
Family (Black Bolt, Medusa, Karnak, Triton) and told them about
Maximus. Black
Bolt put Maximus to sleep with his electron powers.
(Inhumans I#2) – Stallior and Centarius were among
the
Inhumans who saw the fall of the Kree Kaptroids. They later saw the
Inhuman
Iridia emerge from a Terrigen cocoon, beautiful and with butterfly
wings.
(Inhumans III#4) – With Attilan afloat in space, Chiron, Stallior and Centarius were among the Inhumans who watched Black Bolt fight Ronan the Accuser over the fate of the Inhumans. Though Black Bolt won, the Inhuman populace voted to remain in space. The three centaurs were told to escort Ronan to his cell.
Comments: Created by Doug Moench, George Perez and Frank Chiaramonte.
In Amazing Adventures II#1, Maximus was in exile
with the "evil Inhumans" and he called most of them by the wrong names.
He called
Leonus "Lionus," he called Aireo "Aeolus" and he called Stallior "Centaurius."
Then, in Inhumans I#1, Stallior was back in Attilan with a man named
Centarius
at his side, because the world needed two Inhuman centaurs, I guess.
Centarius
appeared in just a handful of issues, then faded away, while Stallior
came back
later on. Chiron was added to this list as well and the Official
Handbook
talked about Stallior being from a line of centaurs. I suppose it is
possible
that the centaur in Amazing Adventures II#1 was actually Centarius but
it
seems extremely likely that this was Stallior though, given the
associations
he was keeping.
Centarius was not specifically named in Inhumans
III#4 but
there are three centaurs there among the Inhumans, so it is very likely
that it
is Centarius, Stallior and Chiron present.
