History:
(Daredevil I#310 (fb) - BTS) - Yves Chapoteau escaped Haiti as a political refugee after the military overthrow of President Aristide. Arriving in the United States, he formed a group to go back and invade Haiti. Knowing the American authorities were after him, Yves returned to his dwelling and found his shoes nailed to the floor, a sign that the Haitians were after him as well. He heard from a friend that Matt Murdock would aid him as an attorney.

(Daredevil I#310) - Yves waited in the office of Murdock in the dark, startling the attorney when he walked in. He explained his situation just as I.N.S. agent Dunphy sought to reclaim him, but Yves escaped through the window. Haitian men, from the civil militia, attacked Chapoteau, prepared to asyphixiate him, but Daredevil fought the men off. The Nameless One then attacked, grabbing Yves by the throat, but Daredevil saved him. When the Nameless One prepared to kill the hero with a sword, Yves threw himself in the way to stop him. When Daredevil knocked the sword of the Nameless One into the air, the Nameless One let it pierce the binding tattoo on his heart and then he dissolved into a pile of goo. Yves then heard the drums and realized Calypso was attacking, so he fled.

(Daredevil I#311) - Yves met with Bogatin, a Russian arms dealer, to equip his army, and Bogatin said he would give the arms freely if Yves gave him a favor later. Just then, the Nameless One attacked, knocking out Bogatin and his men and seeking to kill Yves, but Yves recognized him as Matt Murdock. Murdock screamed, knocked Yves back, and fled. Yves visited Murdock's office and heard Murdock defending Yves to his law partner Foggy Nelson. Yves then told Murdock that he wasn't in control of himself, noticing that the attorney no longer cast a shadow. He told him to find Calypso's Hounfort to find his soul again. Dunphy arrested Yves, prepared to ship him out to Haiti. Murdock promised to work for the Haitian people as much as he could, and Yves thanked him.
