History:
(Dead Clown#3 (fb) - BTS) - Clawfoot's mysterious origins are unrevealed, but he joined the super-powered team, the
Mutations, alongside leader Eyeglare, Bazooka, Hairball and Slush.
(Dead Clown#3) - Captain Hero and William "Bull"
Davidovich advertized for allies to kill the rogue Dead Clown, a
manipulative psychopath with reality-warping powers. The Mutations were
first in line and joined the hunt. Slush froze Dead Clown but the
foolish Captain Hero inadvertently freed him, watched by the assembled
would-be heroes. Alongside other
super-powered people, Clawfoot and the Mutations used burning torches
in the hunt for Dead
Clown and finally cornered him. However, Dead Clown was ready and held
the all-powerful script for the final issue. He altered reality by
rewriting the script, eliminating virtually all his opponents,
including Clawfoot, who perished with a sudden, powerful bolt of
lightning alongside Eyeglare.
Comments: Created by Chris Ulm, Phil Gosier, and Bobby Rae. Malibu's Dead Clown follows the comedic violence and parody
of DC's Lobo (and later Marvel's Lunatik
- with a dash of What The--?).
Clawfoot is clearly a parody of Wolverine. Given Clawfoot's team, the Mutations, closely
parallels the mutant X-Men, I can't say for sure whether he's classed as a mutate or
mutant. Profile
by Grendel
Prime. CLARIFICATIONS
: Bazooka was the burly man of the Mutations with a
technologically advanced suit and a cannon mounted on each forearm. He
had a distinctive light gleam from his left eye and likely had cybernetic enhancements. He was with the
Mutations when they signed up to hunt down Dead Clown. The team finally
cornered their quarry, but Dead Clown manipulated reality so
that a 25-ton weight suddenly fell onto Bazooka's exposed head,
apparently killing him. He appears to be a parody of Cable. --Dead Clown#3 Eyeglare was the leader of the team known as the
Mutations. He was with the Mutations when they signed up to hunt down
Dead Clown and stood by Slush as she iced up the rogue, who soon
fortuitously escaped. The team finally cornered their quarry alongside
the other super-powered people, but Dead Clown manipulated reality so
that a bolt of lightning suddenly hit him and Clawfoot together,
apparently killing them. His powers were not demonstrated and are unrevealed, but
given the literal description of powers as codenames for the others,
Eyeglare's powers were likely linked to, um, glaring eyes (hidden
behind ruby-colored spectacles). Eyeglare is a parody of the mutant leader Cyclops. --Dead Clown#3 Hairball was a member of the Mutations and covered
with brown hair. He was with the Mutations when they signed up to hunt
down Dead Clown. The team finally cornered their quarry, but Dead Clown
manipulated reality so that Hairball suddenly had a heart attack as he
approached and
apparently died. Despite his Sasquatch-like appearance, he is likely a
parody of Beast of the mutant team, the X-Men. --Dead Clown#3 The Mutations group was comprised of members Eyeglare
(leader), Clawfoot, Bazooka, Hairball and Slush. Their attack cry was
"Mutations malign!" The Mutations were first in line to join other
super-powered people in the mercenary hunt for the rogue Dead Clown.
Although they came close to apprehending him, Dead Clown instead used
his reality-warping powers to instantly kill (or at least eliminate)
each of the Mutations (although Slush's fate is not shown). The group is a parody of the mutant team, the X-Men. --Dead Clown#3 Slush was the only female member of the Mutations and
could generate a steady stream of slushy ice from both hands. Short in
stature, she was with the Mutations when they signed up to hunt down
Dead Clown and was the only one of the Mutations to land a blow on Dead
Clown, icing him up into a solid block of ice, but the rogue
fortuitously escaped due to Captain Hero's ineptitude. The Mutations
finally cornered their quarry alongside the other super-powered people,
but Dead Clown manipulated reality so that virtually all his opponents
were eliminated. Slush's fate is unrevealed. Slush looks like Shadowcat (Kitty Pryde), but with
the ice-generating powers of Iceman. --Dead Clown#3 images:
