History:
(Strange Tales II#11/1 (fb) ) - Mister Jip targeted young couple Anthony Zerbe or Lea Farr (possibly runaways) to either become his next host bodies or gain occult powers in return serve him. They chose to serve him and he enhanced them with sorcery. Jip gave Anthony, now codenamed Day, the power to generate and release unclean life energy in contrast to Dagger's power of pure light.
Night and Day spent some time at Jip's base while he waited for Yipyap to return to him with information on the current location of Cloak and Dagger.
(Strange Tales II#9/1) - Cloak returned to the Holy Ghost Church lured there by the unclean light of Day. Day and Night introduced themselves to Cloak and then Day created an unclean light spear to impale Cloak and knock him out. Mister Jip walked out from the shadows while Day and Night placed Cloak on the church's altar.
(Strange Tales II#10/1) - Dagger arrived at the Holy Ghost Church and found Mister Jip holding Cloak while Day and Night were standing next to him.
(Strange Tales II#11/1) - Jip introduced himself and his servants Night and Day to Dagger. Jip offered Dagger to leave, join them or die, but she rejected his choices and instead stunned Night with a light dagger. Day retaliated, but they ended up in stalemate until the demon Predator emerged from the catatonic Cloak's darkness. Predator grabbed Day and tossed him against a wall, injuring him severely. While Dagger drove Predator back into the darkness, Night picked up Day and fled the scene along with Mister Jip.
(Strange Tales II#12/1 (fb) - BTS) - Jip, Night and Day fled the scene and rented a private hospital plane the next morning to get the seriously injured Day to somewhere else....their destination was not mentioned, but they were probably heading to Jip's arctic base.
(Strange Tales II#12/1 (fb) ) - Cloak and Dagger found out about the plane and teleported on it mid-air. Inside Day lay on a stretcher whith Night, posing as a nurse, at his side. Night pushed Dagger out of the plane and Cloak was forced to save her, allowing Jip to escape with Night and Day.
(Mutant Misadventures of Cloak and Dagger#1 (fb) - BTS) - Mister Jip agreed to use his magic to heal Night's lover Day in return for her preparing Dagger for his use, but when she failed Mister Jip withheld his mystical aid and Day died.
Comments: Created by Terry Austin, Bret Blevins & Bob Wiacek.
I assume Day to be from Britain because of the cockney slang he used.
Day's red scarf disappeared between issues for unknown reasons and was replaced by a light blue one that matched with the rest of his costume. Maybe Mister Jip didn't like the color and asked him politely to change it.
Day received his real name in Dagger's profile in Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe A to Z HC#3 (2008).
