History: (Amazing Spider-Man II#791 - BTS / Superior Spider-Man#24 (fb) ) - Roderick Kingsley, the Hobgoblin, established himself for a time in Delvadia as the Devil-Spider, a costumed mercenary patterned after the Delvadian patriot Tarantula. After a time, he handed off the Devil-Spider identity to a Delvadian criminal, who paid Kingsley a cut of his earnings as one of his franchisees.

(Superior Spider-Man#24) - In New York for a delivery, Devil-Spider was approached by the Hobgoblin (actually Kingsley's rival, Norman Osborn, in disguise), who demanded his share of the proceeds. Later, he and fellow franchisees Blaze and Bruin were contacted by the real Kingsley, who was apoplectic that they'd paid off his enemy. He sent them out to commit a robbery so they'd have the money to pay him. They pulled off a heist in the diamond district; while Blaze was interested in becoming famous, Devil-Spider chided him, as he intended to take his diamonds to Delvadia and remain inconspicuous. Before they could escape, however, they were attacked by the "Superior" Venom - the mind of Otto Octavius in Spider-Man's body, now also enhanced by the power of the Venom symbiote...

(Superior Spider-Man#25) - Venom made short work of the trio, taking down Devil-Spider first. However, the Avengers intervened before long, preventing Venom from killing them.

(Amazing Spider-Man III#16/1 (fb) ) - When the Black Cat took over the Hobgoblin's rackets, the Devil-Spider fell under her command.

(Amazing Spider-Man III#16/1) - The Devil-Spider hung out in the Black Cat's bar, watching the Eel play an arcade game.

(Amazing Spider-Man III#20.1) - When a super villain gang war erupted on the streets of New York City, the Devil-Spider took on Cyclone at a construction site.

(Amazing Spider-Man IV#25/1) - Devil-Spider joined forces with fellow Delvadian mercenary Tarantula to work for the Delvadian government to battle El Facoquero ("the Warthog"), the nation's premiere drug lord and gun-runner - who the authorities believed was secretly Norman Osborn. They were joined on a raid on his underground compound in Las Colinas Rojas by Spider-Man, Mockingbird, and the forces of SHIELD. They raced through the tunnels, battling Facoquero's Goblin minions and soon the crimelord himself. When the mercenary Silver Sable set off an explosion on the surface, Spider-Man and Mockingbird sent Devil-Spider, Tarantula, and the SHIELD to evacuate the tunnels, taking El Facoquero's unconscious henchmen with them. While they did successfully capture El Facoquero, they soon discovered that he was not Osborn - but that Osborn, his ally, had impersonated the real El Facoquero.
