Dirt Nap has consumed humans (Daryll Smith and Algernon), a rat, and super-powered operatives Wolverine, Scream, and Venom, though he struggled to maintain control of the alien symbiote forms as well as Wolverine's healing factor. In any form, Dirt Nap has a red smiley face that appears somewhere on his form. Dirt Nap loses the ability of his consumed forms if they were severed from his connection.

History:
(Wolverine II#99 (fb) - BTS) - Genesis (Tyler Dayspring) recruited Dirt Nap to help him lure Wolverine into a trap.
(Venom: Tooth and Claw#3 (fb) - BTS) - Special agent Daryl Smith of the NSA and Mutant Task Force went to arrest Dirt Nap, but Dirt Nap consumed him instead.
(Wolverine II#95) - Dirt Nap, using Smith's form, saw Wolverine pass through the area, and he approached him, offering "mind-expansion and stuptefication", "fun and games and takin' no names", and "bumpin' in the dark and slumpin' in the park", but Wolverine wasn't interested. The man then grabbed Algernon, a local kid, causing Wolverine to pop his claws to protect the boy. Guardian (James Hudson) and Vindicator (Heather Hudson) tried stopping Wolverine, allowing Dirt Nap to escape with the child. Hours later, Dirt Nap attacked from within the child's form, and he opened up a huge portal within himself, then a giant hand emerged, pulling Wolverine inside. Dirt Nap tried possessing Wolverine, but his healing factor repelled Dirt Nap, who then absorbed a rat and took its form. As Dirt Nap rushed away, he taunted Wolverine, saying he still had the kid's form within him, and saying that his boss had big plans for Wolverine. |
(Wolverine II#98) - When Wolverine was in a cell in Genosha, Dirt Nap taunted him there, reminding him that he still had that child inside him.
(Wolverine II#99) - In Akkaba, Egypt, Dirt Nap lured Wolverine to Genesis, and Wolverine was soon apprehended by the Dark Riders, a team Dirt Nap was loosely affiliated with.
(Wolverine II#100 - BTS) - Dirt Nap saw Wolverine slaughter the Dark Riders, and he fled.
(Venom: Tooth and Claw#2 (fb) - BTS) - Chimera used Dirt Nap to lure Wolverine into a trap, and sent him against Venom.
(Venom: Tooth and Claw#1) - Dirt Nap, in his rat form, lured Eddie Brock into an alley, then consumed him as Brock turned into Venom. Taking Brock's form, Dirt Nap struggled to maintain control as Venom's healing factor kicked in. Venom met with Wolverine and remained hidden in Brock's form until young Emmett (of Landau, Luckman and Lake) scanned him, revealing three central nervous systems within his form. Dirt Nap tried eating the others, but Wolverine managed to free Venom from Dirt Nap, who then took on the form of the boy to stop Wolverine from killing him. When Wolverine and Venom started fighting, Dirt Nap took on the rat form and jumped through Emmett's dimensional portal to escape. (Venom: Tooth and Claw#2) - Dirt Nap ran with Venom, Wolverine, Emmett, and the Phage ship, containing civilians Rocky, Jerry, and Donna Diego, all following him through the portal. After showing the boy's form again to hold off Wolverine, Dirt Nap tried eating the civilians. Donna changed into Scream but he still consumed her. Just then, Chimera attacked with her Plasma Wraiths, and she ended up pulling Dirt Nap after her through a portal, where she strung Dirt Nap up in Algernon's form, waiting for Wolverine to follow. (Venom: Tooth and Claw#3) - Venom and Wolverine began fighting over whether to kill Dirt Nap or not, though they were soon battling Chimera and the Plasma Wraiths. Venom forced Dirt Nap to release Scream, who then battled Dirt Nap in a giant rat form. Scream made him release Algernon, then she exposed his true form, that of a deformed old man. Smith tried to arrest him, but the portals activated and Dirt Nap and Chimera disappeared within them. (Generation X I#33) - Dirt Nap (in rat form) and Chimera passed through a dimensional door opened by D.O.A. and Emplate. (Generation X I#36) - Carrying a lepton imploder, Dirt Nap, in rat form, arrived at the Massachusetts Academy, where he was nearly shot by Chief Tracy Authier, then presented to Banshee and the White Queen. The rat revealed he was alive and told the mutants they could use the imploder to reach their missing student, Synch. He opened the gateway and passed through with Banshee, White Queen, and Penance. (Generation X I#37) - Dirt Nap and the others found themselves in a frozen tundra with a running train, which took them to the Citadel of the Universal Amalgamator. (Generation X I#38) - Chamber, Jubilee, and Elwood joined the group on the train as a giant alien spider attacked, and Dirt Nap was briefly dislodged from the train. The mutants worked together to save Dirt Nap, who was humbled, having never seen someone seek to save him before. When the mutants were nearly defeated by M-Plate (a merged version of Emplate, Claudette and Nicolette St. Croix), Dirt Nap chose to consume her to save his new friends, and he ballooned up from the energy. D.O.A. began beating Dirt Nap, demanding M-Plate's release. (Generation X I#39) - Within Dirt Nap's form, the identities of Emplate, M-Plate, Monet St. Croix, Claudette St. Croix, and Nicole St. Croix all fought for dominance, and Dirt Nap soon exploded in "ectoplasmic rat jelly" all over the room, freeing the forms trapped within him. (Marauders II#6) - Dirt Nap hid in the rafters over the Theater of Pain, watching a hidden Lockheed as Scratch performed a dissection below them. (Marauders II#11) - Dirt Nap hung out at the Theater of Pain feasting, but Fang killed him. Comments: Created by Larry Hama, Adam Kubert, Dan Green, and Matt Ryan.
