History:
(Marvel Mangaverse: Eternity Twilight - BTS) - The Elder God, Dormammu lived in the Ethereal Realm, the place where all gods, demons and monsters originated from.
(Marvel Mangaverse: Eternity Twilight (fb) - BTS) - In the Ethereal Realm, Dormammu fought the thunder god Thor on several accounts.
(Marvel Mangaverse: Eternity Twilight - BTS) - Through unrevealed means Dormammu came through Earth but was eventually banished back to the Ethereal Realm.
(Marvel Mangaverse: Eternity Twilight (fb) - BTS) - On Earth a group was formed to bring the Elder Gods back, believing they were the rightful rulers of Earth. Calling themselves the Keepers they were also the secret beneficiaries behind Hydra.
(Marvel Mangaverse: New Dawn - BTS) - The Keepers and Hydra had managed to trick Doctor Bruce Banner into building what he believed to be an energy well. In reality it was a conduit, a bridge between Earth and the Ethereal Realm populated by banished gods and monsters. But when the well backfired due to improper construction, the resulting electro-magnetic pulse spread worldwide and caused every energy system to shut down for 24 hours. Resulting in the Blackout Wars after which S.H.I.E.L.D. attacked the Hydra base.
(Marvel Mangaverse: Eternity Twilight - BTS) - The Keepers and Hydra learned Toni Stark planned to rebuild the energy well with Banner's help, realizing they had a second chance to bring Dormammu back to Earth. To set their plans in motion Baron Mordo used his magics to become the head ambassador of the Euro-Asian Alliance which allowed him to get inside Stark Island while Strucker sent Hydra agents Black Widow and the Executioner to retrieve Banner. While also acquiring the services of Namor, Prince of Atlantis and his Atlantean army to besiege Stark Island, all of them unaware of the Keepers' true plan. Meanwhile Hydra's attack on Banner led the scientist to inadvertently summon Dormammu's loyal servant the Hulk to Earth as Banner himself was the bridge between Earth and the Ethereal Realm. With the Hulk terrorizing New York City, Strucker knew the time had come to set out with the combined forces of Atlantis and Hydra to attack Stark Island to gain access to the energy well.
(Marvel Mangaverse: Eternity Twilight) - After a fierce battle against the superhero community protecting Stark Island, Baron Strucker and Hydra successfully gained entrance to the energy well. Strucker summoned the elder god Dormammu. Hungering for blood and souls Strucker offered his men to feed the elder god's appetite after which Dormammu began his rampage on Stark Island. Soon arrived the 245 feet tall Hulk making it clear he was Dormammu's loyal servant. The combined heroic forces of the Fantastic Four, the X-Men and the residents on Stark Island battled Dormammu and the Hulk although they didn't seem to hurt them one bit. During the battle, Dr. Strange realized he could use Dr. Bruce Banner's body as a conduit to summon another god, Thor from the Ethereal Realm. Confronted with the foe he'd faced so often Dormammu ordered the Hulk to kill the god who was easily defeated by Thor, wielding his hammer Mjolnir. Dormammu then attacked Thor himself. Sensing Thor was loosing since the mighty Dormammu was feeding on the hate of the world Dr. Strange discovered Thor was feeding on man's faith when he saw the power of the Eye of Agamotto strengthening Thor. With help from Dr. Strange, Thor was able to channel all the energy the heroes possessed to defeat the Hulk and Dormammu after which the gods and monster returned to the Ethereal Realm. With Dormammu, Thor and the Hulk gone, Earth's heroes witnessed how Banner died, posing as a conduit for the gods proved too much for his frail body.

Unlike Reality-616, this Dormammu doesn't originate from the Dark Dimension but hails from the Ethereal Realm. In the Marvel Mangaverse the Ethereal Realm was the place where all gods, demons and monsters originated from. In Hulk: Broken Worlds Book two (2009) it was revealed that the Ethereal Realm was divided into several zones, one of them being the Norse Cosmological Zone it seems unlikely Dormammu is from this zone, perhaps there is a Dark "Dimension" Zone.
Due to the Asian specific nature of the Mangaverse reality, it goes without saying that while characters might look similar to their 616 counterparts, they most likely will have distinctly different names, codenames or powers. Therefore we will only list the names when they have been used in the comics.
