History: (Franklin Richards:
Dark Reigning Cats & Dogs#1/1) - A grandchild of Lockjaw,
Puppy was gifted to Franklin Richards of Earth-10920 for
Franklin's fortieth
birthday. Much like his grandfather, Puppy could teleport across
space
and could also travel through time. Franklin, who had never
owned a dog
before, used this opportunity to visit his younger, pre-teenage
self on
Earth-6513. After running into his younger self, who had just
been
denied a dog for his own birthday, 40-year old Franklin showed
him
Puppy, who then took both Franklins on a trip across space and
time.
Upon returning the child Franklin to his home, the older
Franklin
revealed to his younger self that he wished he had been allowed
to have a dog back when
he was a kid and the younger Franklin had an idea on how to make
it so. At his request the older Franklin told their father Reed
that young
Franklin was in fact supposed to get Puppy, because the
older Franklin (falsely) claimed Puppy had been his pet when he
was young Franklin's age. Believing he was maintaining the
established timeline, Reed agreed to let
the young Franklin keep Puppy and the older Franklin went back
to his
time on Earth-10920, not having a dog anymore but having now had
had
one in the past of Earth-6513 (see comments).
(Tails of the Pet Avengers: The Dogs of Summer#1/1) - One day, Franklin-6513 tossed one of his father's inventions into the garbage to hide from H.E.R.B.I.E.-6513 the fact that he was messing with it without permission. The next morning, Franklin awoke to find that the device had created a huge garbage pile on the street that reached up to his windows and had menacing glowing eyes. To fix the mess that he had made, Franklin had Puppy teleport him and H.E.R.B.I.E. outside and then asked Puppy to go and bring them help. Puppy responded by teleporting to them the Pet Avengers-6513, which included his own Earth-6513 grandfather, Lockjaw. The Pet Avengers helped Franklin find his father's device inside the huge garbage pile, which when pressed caused the pile to lose its form and fall apart. Puppy then teleported the Pet Avengers back to where they came from and Franklin was left cleaning up what was left of the garbage.
Comments: Created by Chris Eliopoulos.
Within the pages of "Tails of the Pet Avengers: The Dogs of
Summer" Puppy appears in two different stories, and the first of
them
is chronologically set after the one that comes later in the
issue.
Due to it being a reprint from
an
earlier comic, Franklin Richards: Dark Reigning Cats &
Dogs#1.
--Proto-Man
Though it's not
certain, Franklin being given a pet dog when he was a child is
probably the point where his timeline (6513) diverged from the
one where he never got a dog until he was forty (10920).
