History: (Exiles I#3 (fb) - BTS) - Wolverine
had a love of foreign culture and beer, and a surprisingly good singing
voice that he tended to keep quiet about.
(Exiles I#3 (fb) - BTS) - After joining the X-Men,
Wolverine became close friends with the power-copying Mimic, who got to
know Wolverine better than most due to their shared interest in foreign
culture, beer and karaoke. During their various attempts to get drunk,
which proved harder than normal since both had healing factors, the two
friends discovered that each had great singing voices. Two nights
following the seeming death of their teammate Phoenix (who was actually
the cosmic Phoenix Force posing as Jean Grey at the time), Wolverine
and Mimic went out drinking and the two learned that they both harbored
an unrequited love for Jean Grey. Their love for Jean and the
idea that she died never knowing how they felt brought Wolverine and
Mimic even closer as friends though both were unaware at the time that
the real Jean Grey was comatose at the bottom of New York harbor.
(Exiles I#1 (fb)) - Wolverine remained a member of the X-Men, alongside Bishop, following the return of the true Jean Grey in a squad led by Mimic.
(Exiles I#14 (fb)) - With Mimic still as field leader
of the
X-Men, Wolverine
continued to be active with the team. At one point, Wolverine went out
drinking with Mimic and Beast with all three later joined by their
teammates Cyclops and Jean Grey.
(Exiles I#3 - BTS) - While on Earth-8649 as part of
the reality-hopping Exiles, Mimic encountered the Wolverine of that
reality and thought about how close he was to Earth-12's Wolverine,
even considering having Earth-12's Wolverine act as his best man should
he ever get married. Knowing he would have to ultimately kill
Earth-8649's Phoenix, Mimic thought how Earth-12's Wolverine would
never go along with killing Jean Grey. Thinking of the Earth-12
Wolverine's secret love for Jean Grey, Mimic decided to knock
Earth-8649's Wolverine unconscious rather than have him witness the
death of Jean Grey.
(Exiles I#83) - Following Mimic's death as part of the reality-hopping Exiles team, team leader and Mimic's lover, Earth-295's Blink, teleported to Earth-12, waking the X-Men Cyclops, Jean Grey, Storm, Nightcrawler and Wolverine. When Nightcrawler wondered who could be attacking them now, Wolverine admitted that he had been having a hot dream and that someone was going to pay for interrupting it. Rushing downstairs, Wolverine saw Blink holding a corpse and his superhuman senses immediately recognized the corpse as Mimic. Blink confirmed Wolverine's suspicions by revealing to the X-Men that the corpse was indeed Mimic and that she had brought him home for a proper funeral. She then explained that Mimic had died fighting for what he believed in and that she would give the X-Men the entire story if they would be willing to share things about Mimic that she never got a chance to learn about.
(Exiles I#84) - After a funeral for Mimic was held,
Wolverine accompanied the other X-Men and Blink to the reception, where
he warned the others to steer clear of the casserole dropped off by the
Morlocks. Smiling, Cyclops asked Blink if there was ever another
reality where Mimic had beaten up a counterpart of Wolverine, to which
Wolverine told Cyclops to "dream on."
Comments: Created by Judd Winick, Mike McKone and Mark McKenna.
Earth-12's Wolverine was only ever identified as Logan. It's very possible his real name is James Howlett, like his Earth-616 counterpart.
Earth-12's Wolverine appeared to be slighter taller
than his Earth-616 counterpart, hence the approximate of his height at
5'7".
