History: (Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes cartoon short - "Meet Captain America" (fb)) - James Howlett joined the Howling Commandos on their assault on the Hydra Science Base.

(Hulk Versus animated film - "Hulk vs. Wolverine" (fb)) - Wolverine was abducted by the shadowy Weapon X organization. They bonded Adamantium to his skeleton and, after performing tests on him, sent him on missions with Deadpool, Sabretooth and Omega Red.

(Wolverine & the X-Men cartoon episode - "Stolen Lives" (fb)) - Mystique was paired with Wolverine and Sabretooth, much to the latter's chagrin. Eventually, the Weapon X organization planned to bond Adamantium onto Mystique's skeleton but Wolverine stepped in to stop them and help her escape.

(Wolverine & the X-Men cartoon episode - "Past Discretions" (fb)) - Wolverine was sent on a mission to take out a mutant named Christopher Nord. He felt some apprehension when he discovered Nord had a daughter named Christy and refused to continue but Nord had heard him and attacked, resulting in Nord's barn catching on fire. At this point, Wolverine was finally able to tell Nord he was willing to leave him and his daughter alone but Sabretooth arrived and tried to take Nord out. Wolverine tried to fight him off but was eventually faced with either rescuing Nord or his daughter from the burning barn when the building began to collapse. He elected to save Christy and assumed her father died in the fire.

(Wolverine & the X-Men cartoon episode - "Hindsight, Part 1" (fb) - BTS) - At some point, Wolverine violently encountered Weapon X head Colonel Moss, slashing Moss' face and ultimately leaving horrible scars.

(Hulk Versus animated film - "Hulk Vs. Wolverine" (fb)) - Eventually, Wolverine escaped from Weapon X.

(Wolverine & the X-Men cartoon episode - "Code of Conduct" (fb)) - Wolverine traveled to Japan and trained as a samurai, eventually meeting a woman named Mariko. The two wanted to marry but Wolverine had to duel the Silver Samurai for that honor. He won but Mariko unexplainably insisted that he leave her alone and Wolverine honored her wishes, unaware that the Yakuza syndicate had threatened to kill her if she had married Wolverine.

(Hulk Versus animated film - "Hulk Vs. Wolverine") - Wolverine was summoned by the paramilitary agency Department H to the site of an apparent rampage of the monstrous Hulk and was ordered to stop the Hulk by whatever means possible. While tracking the monster, he came across a disheveled man in the woods who begged Wolverine to leave him alone, unaware that this man was Bruce Banner, who then transformed into the Hulk and engaged Wolverine in a pitched battle. They were interrupted by Wolverine's former Weapon X allies (Sabretooth, Lady Deathstrike, Deadpool and Omega Red), who shot the pair with tranquilizer darts and took them back to the Weapon X facility. Once Wolverine woke up, he discovered that Weapon X was responsible for the death and destruction attributed to the Hulk. They planned to reprogram the Hulk to become their ultimate weapon and do the same to Wolverine but their plans went awry when Lady Deathstrike and Sabretooth freed Wolverine so that they could kill him. Instead, Wolverine took them down and began rampaging through the Weapon X facility while trying to find and free the Hulk. Instead, he once again found Bruce Banner. The pair attempted to flee but were waylaid by the Weapon X operatives. Bruce was unwilling to change into the Hulk, forcing Wolverine to stab him and then fend off their attackers by himself. He managed to hold his own until Bruce's injury forced him to transform, at which point Wolverine only had to stay out of the Hulk's way long enough for him to defeat their foes. Unfortunately, the Hulk didn't understand the strategic importance of Wolverine's actions and inadvertently forced Wolverine to retreat. At this point, the Weapon X operatives (minus Deadpool, who had switched sides) began fighting against both the Hulk and Wolverine, turning the entire situation into a three-way melee until the Hulk defeated everyone and knocked Wolverine miles away before causing the entire structure to collapse. As Wolverine reflected on this from afar, the Hulk leaped clear of the wreckage and the two resumed their one-on-one battle.

(Wolverine & the X-Men cartoon episode - "Breakdown" (fb)) - Wolverine joined the X-Men, immediately taking a liking to Jean Grey and getting on Cyclops' bad side. This resulted in a battle between Wolverine and Cyclops though it became one-sided when Wolverine promised not to fight. This event led Wolverine to want to take some time away from the X-Men.

(Wolverine & the X-Men cartoon episode - "Hindsight, Part 1") - As Wolverine was about to leave, the Xavier Institute mansion exploded while Professor X and Jean Grey went missing. Following the mansion's destruction, Wolverine took a sabbatical from the X-Men.

(Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes cartoon episode - "Infiltration" - BTS) - S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Nick Fury had a photograph of Wolverine on his wall of individuals that could have been replaced by shapeshifting alien Skrulls.

(Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes cartoon episode - "Secret Invasion" - BTS) - The photo of Wolverine remained on Nick Fury's wall of individuals that had possibly been replaced by alien Skrulls.

(Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes cartoon episode - "New Avengers") - After the time conqueror Kang attempted to bring his forces from his future timeline to erase the Avengers from existence, causing fluctuations in the present day timestream, Wolverine happened upon Spider-Man fighting some dinosaurs and helped defeat them. After Spider-Man received a message inviting him to become one of the new Avengers, Wolverine listened to the message as well and decided ed to tag along to help fight Kang. Despite the initial fight not going well, Wolverine insisted otherwise, claiming he had Kang on the ropes. The second battle against Kang went far better with the new Avengers defeating Kang and restoring the timeline.

(Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes cartoon episode - "Avengers Assemble") - Wolverine was summoned to help combat Galactus. He was teamed with the Thing, the Human Torch, Hawkeye and the Wasp to fight the water herald Stardust. They managed to defeat the herald.

(Wolverine & the X-Men cartoon episode - "Hindsight, Part 1") - After being on sabbatical for a year, Wolverine was drawn to a train crash, where he saved a young lady named Erica from the flaming wreckage, only to be reported to the government's anti-mutant Mutant Response Division (MRD) led by former Weapon X head Colonel Moss by a bystander. Erica's family tried to hide Wolverine but wound up being arrested for being unwilling to give up his location. He attempted to stop this but while he was able to fight off the MRD and save himself, Erica's family remained in custody, forcing Wolverine to seek out help at the remains of the Xavier Institute. The only one still at the mansion was Beast, who had been trying to find the source of the mansion's destruction and relayed his findings to Wolverine. The pair then successfully freed Erica's family and the MRD's mutant prisoners. After Erica's family was relocated, Wolverine and Beast decided to re-form the X-Men.

(Wolverine & the X-Men cartoon episode - "Hindsight, Part 2") - Wolverine and Beast intervened when a Sentinel Prowler attacked Rogue and Angel but failed to convince either one to re-join the X-Men. Wolverine then sought out Cyclops, who also refused. Once he learned that Rogue had joined the Brotherhood, Wolverine decided it was time to find Iceman and Kitty Pryde. He successfully recruited them but when they returned to the mansion, they found Rogue waiting for them with information about an imminent Brotherhood attack against noted anti-mutant Senator Kelly. Wolverine led the X-Men in the Senator's defense, only to discover that it had been set up to make it look like they were the ones attacking Senator Kelly and that the Brotherhood was nowhere to be seen. The team manged to escape with the timely intervention of Angel but lost Rogue to the Brotherhood.

(Wolverine & the X-Men cartoon episode - "Hindsight, Part 3") - Wolverine was able to rebuild the Xavier Institute with help from Angel (and his money), and the pair discussed the team's future. Wolverine decided that Rogue had to make the next move and then discovered telepath Emma Frost waiting at the mansion's front door. Wolverine immediately distrusted her despite her claims of being able to find Professor X, even when she readily offered answers to any questions Wolverine demanded. While this did not help Wolverine trust her, she did mention that only a telepath could operate the mutant-tracking Cerebro computer, a top priority of the regrouped X-Men. Once Forge had completed the repairs on Cerebro, Wolverine allowed Emma to use Cerebro and she discovered that the Professor was on Genosha, Magneto's new mutant refuge, leading Wolverine to believe that Magneto was responsible for the mansion's explosion. The information also led Cyclops to rejoin the team, which immediately left to retrieve Professor X. They invaded Genosha and were easily defeated by Magneto, who denied blowing up the mansion but conceded that he had Professor X. He willingly released the comatose telepath to the X-Men's care and once they had placed him in a stasis pod, they received a telepathic message from the alternate future Earth-80920 Professor X informing them that the world was overrun with Sentinels and the only chance of averting this future was for Wolverine to lead the X-Men. This message didn't sit well with either Cyclops or Wolverine, who begrudgingly accepted this responsibility.

(Wolverine & the X-Men cartoon episode - "Overflow") - Earth-80920's Professor X telepathically warned Wolverine that Storm would soon destroy Africa and so he took the team (and Emma Frost) to stop her. They discovered that she was causing chaotic weather due to the manipulations of the Shadow King, whom they managed to defeat with the aid of Emma Frost. This stopped the destruction and caused Wolverine to trust Emma, if only a little. Storm then re-joined the team.

(Wolverine & the X-Men cartoon episode - "Thieves' Gambit") - Wolverine rescued Magma, whose powers had surged out of control, by placing a power-inhibiting collar on her. This brought the device to the attention of the MRD and Senator Kelly later paid the mutant thief Gambit to steal it for the MRD. Gambit managed to take it from the mansion but Wolverine was able to track him down and hire him to successfully help steal the collar back.

(Wolverine & the X-Men cartoon episode - "X-Calibre") - While training, Wolverine asked Kitty Pryde to help Beast search for Nightcrawler. Luckily, Kitty knew that Nightcrawler was on a ship bound for Genosha and the X-Men set off to intercept the ship. Before they could arrive, Nightcrawler successfully saved the ship from a group of "pirates" who were actually the lackeys of a being named Mojo, who had been raiding ships to steal mutants to use as gladiators. Wolverine offered him a ride back to the mansion but Nightcrawler refused because he felt the need to ensure that the ship reached its destination.

(Wolverine & the X-Men cartoon episode - "Wolverine vs. the Hulk") - Wolverine was fighting the MRD when Nick Fury and SHIELD arrived to request his help with another Hulk rampage in Canada. Initially, Wolverine was reluctant to do so but agreed when Fury threatened to leak the X-Men's real names and location to Senator Kelly. He left immediately, quickly finding and engaging the Hulk in a battle which Wolverine ended with the help of a tranquilizer grenade, causing the Hulk to revert to Bruce Banner, who had been sent by SHIELD to track down and neutralize a creature called the Wendigo. He intended to accomplish this with a cure he had created but subsequently lost thanks to SHIELD throwing him from a helicopter and forcing him to turn into the Hulk. Wolverine agreed to help find the cure but on their way to find it, they discovered that the Wendigo was able to transmit its curse to others when they were attacked by a small army of Wendigos, which they were only able to repel when Bruce Banner was forcibly turned back into the Hulk. Despite this setback, they were able to retrieve the cure and it successfully transformed the Wendigos back into human beings. Unfortunately, the Hulk was still enraged at Wolverine and attacked him but ultimately accepted his apology and reverted back to Bruce Banner. The pair were then retrieved by SHIELD along with the former Wendigos, whom Wolverine had learned were developed by SHIELD in the first place. Neither Wolverine or Banner were very happy about this and Wolverine felt that unleashing the Hulk to show his displeasure might be the best course of action. He was subsequently punched so hard by Hulk that he landed miles away.

(Wolverine & the X-Men cartoon episode - "Time Bomb") - Wolverine was telepathically contacted by Earth-80920's Professor X and told to find a mutant named Nitro, who had been rescued from the MRD by the Brotherhood and had to be returned to the MRD or half the mutant population would be destroyed. Wolverine then successfully found and assured that Nitro returned to SHIELD custody.

(Wolverine & the X-Men cartoon episode - "Future X") - Wolverine contacted Professor X about information on something called Master Mold. Initially, Xavier was unable to help, prompting Wolverine to take the X-Men to the facility where he and Gambit had earlier retrieved the mutant inhibitor collar. After this proved to be a dead end since the facility was empty, Professor X was able to tell him that Master Mold was a machine that controlled the Sentinels and allowed them to evolve.

(Wolverine & the X-Men cartoon episode - "Greetings from Genosha") - Wolverine attacked the Angel, who was visiting the mansion, seemingly without any explanation. Eventually, the other X-Men stopped him, at which point Wolverine revealed that Angel was actually a shapeshifter. With "his" cover blown, the as-yet-unidentified shapeshifter fled and Wolverine gave chase, eventually catching "him." The shapeshifter then revealed "himself" as Mystique, who revealed that she knew more about Wolverine's past than he did and attacked him. The fight continued until Mystique's beeper went off, at which point she fled. Wolverine attempted to catch her but failed.

(Wolverine & the X-Men cartoon episode - "Past Discretions") - Earth-80920's Professor X helped Wolverine recover some of his lost memories. Wolverine was unhappy with the retrieved memories, as they showed him standing over a man in a burning barn while a little girl screamed. Professor X was unwilling to uncover more of the memory and Wolverine went to Emma Frost instead. She was able to tell him that the barn was at the base of two mountain. Iceman was able to use the internet to find out where the mountains actually were and Wolverine left to find answers. As he traveled, more memories began to resurface but when he reached the barn, he was attacked and subdued by a young woman named Christy. He remembered that she was the daughter of a man named Christopher Nord whom he had been sent to take out. She wanted answers and was dismayed when Wolverine had none to give but she wasn't dismayed for very long, as the attacking Sabretooth shot her with a tranquilizer dart. Sabretooth had come to attack Wolverine, which forced the memories Wolverine had been seeking to resurface. Wolverine and Sabretooth continued to fight until Christy used her geomancy powers to intervene, trapping Sabretooth against a tree and sending it into a chasm. With the truth revealed, Christy forgave Wolverine and he returned to the mansion, thanking Emma Frost for her help.

(Wolverine & the X-Men cartoon episode - "eXcessive Force") - Cyclops brought a mutant named Harpoon back to the mansion because he was the henchman of Mister Sinister, who had been after Cyclops and Jean Grey for years in his quest to create the perfect mutant. Cyclops figured that Mister Sinister might have Jean and that Emma Frost could probe Harpoon's mind to discover her location. Wolverine didn't like any of this but after Emma's probe turned up nothing and Cyclops sulked away, Wolverine still went to make sure he was all right. Cyclops told him he still intended to go after Mister Sinister and Wolverine told him it was a bad move, refusing to allow the X-Men to assist. Despite this decision, Wolverine immediately took the team to rescue Cyclops when Emma revealed that he had gone after Mister Sinister anyway. They arrived just in time to rescue Cyclops from Mister Sinister and his army of Multiple Men. Once they returned to the mansion, Wolverine gave Cyclops a choice: be part of the X-Men or search for Jean. Cyclops opted for the former.

(Wolverine & the X-Men cartoon episode - "Battle Lines") - Rogue arrived at the mansion with news that the Brotherhood intended to attack the X-Men. Wolverine locked her up despite believing her but his actions caused the rest of the X-Men to not be ready when the Brotherhood actually attacked. During the attack, Wolverine forgave Rogue for his actions and welcomed her back to the team. After the Brotherhood was driven off, Wolverine discovered that Magneto had sent the Brotherhood to take down the MRD, which would have lead to the war that Wolverine had been trying to avoid. The X-Men went to stop the Brotherhood but were waylaid by the unconscious Juggernaut, who had been knocked through the air by a giant glowing monster. It seemed unstoppable and once Emma Frost revealed that the monster was actually a young girl named Tildie Soames, Wolverine was visibly shaken. He couldn't think of any plan other than to send Rogue to find help while the rest of the team tried to hold Tildie off but Rogue instead absorbed Juggernaut's power and managed to stop Tildie single-handedly by crushing a device Juggernaut had placed on Tildie. Despite their success, Senator Kelly and Magneto still declared that humans and mutants were now at war. This caused Wolverine to believe he had failed as a leader and only Professor X-80920's words of encouragement kept him going.

(Wolverine & the X-Men cartoon episode - "Stolen Lives") - Wolverine was awoken by a mysterious call alerting him to the fact that Christy Nord was in danger. He called her to let her know that she should be careful and that he was on his way to help but by the time he arrived, she had already been captured by Weapon X. While investigating, he was surprised by Mystique, whom he recognized as the source of the call. He demanded answers, which Mystique readily supplied, and the reluctant pair set off to rescue Christy. The pair quickly found the aircraft Weapon X used to take Christy and Wolverine attacked it, coming face-to-face with Christopher Nord, who was now going by the codename Maverick. The two began to fight with Wolverine trying to get through to him by telling him that the girl Maverick had helped capture was his daughter. Maverick wouldn't listen and tossed Wolverine out of the plane, though Wolverine immediately resumed the chase and found where the Weapon X plane had touched down. He followed the trail to a safehouse and found Maverick, Christy and some Weapon X troops inside. A fight ensued, allowing Maverick to escape with Christy. Wolverine fared surprisingly poor during the fight until Mystique arrived to help turn the tide and once they had triumphed, Mystique revealed she knew where Maverick was going because she, too, was once part of Weapon X. On the trip to Maverick, Mystique revealed more information about her past and Wolverine's part in it. When they reached the Weapon X facility, they found Sabretooth waiting for them and Wolverine opted to fight him while Mystique sought out Christy. Wolverine once again fought very poorly until he was rescued by Mystique and, once Sabretooth was taken out, the pair found Christy as well as a young female clone of Wolverine codenamed X-23. This appalled Wolverine but he was forced to choose between answers about X-23 or helping Mystique save Christy and Maverick. He chose the latter and after they had reached safety, he recalled a key memory of himself and Mystique but she was unable to help him find more answers. Wolverine took the Nords back to the mansion, where Emma helped Maverick recover faint memories of his daughter and set him on the road to recovery.

(Wolverine & the X-Men cartoon episode - "Hunting Grounds") - Wolverine was attacked and captured by Mojo's goons, brainwashed, and forced to fight against Nightcrawler and Scarlet Witch. They barely managed to survive until Nightcrawler broke the brainwashing, knocking Wolverine out. He woke up just in time to stop Spiral from killing Scarlet Witch and Mojo from killing Nightcrawler. Wolverine and Nightcrawler then returned Scarlet Witch to Magneto and then left with the X-Men.

(Wolverine & the X-Men cartoon episode - "Badlands") - Wolverine led Kitty Pryde and Forge in a stealth mission at the Sentinel factory which turned into a regular mission when the guards discovered Wolverine, who went on a rampage to give Kitty and Forge time to escape. The rampage ended when he was blindsided by a blast from an incomplete Sentinel that knocked him unconscious. He woke up while his body was being scanned but was rescued by Kitty, though the pair then had to rescue Forge as well. He later learned from Earth-80920's Professor X that the Sentinels of his alternate future may have been able to use his abilities due to his body being scanned.

(Wolverine & the X-Men cartoon episode - "Code of Conduct" (fb) - BTS) - While Wolverine was away from the mansion, Silver Samurai, who was vying for leadership of the Yakuza and wished to wipe his slate clean of his sole defeat by Wolverine, invaded the mansion. Knowing Wolverine would deny a simple challenge, Silver Samurai kidnapped the X-Men and held them hostage, leaving Rogue behind to deliver a duel challenge to Wolverine.

(Wolverine & the X-Men cartoon episode - "Code of Conduct") - Wolverine arrived at the mansion to find it almost deserted and, using his powers, realized that it was attacked by ninjas led by the Silver Samurai. Finding Rogue and learning of the Silver Samurai's challenge, Wolverine traveled with Rogue to the Japanese embassy but found only his former love Mariko instead. After Mariko explained Silver Samurai's Yakuza leadership ambitions, she told Wolverine the location of his captured friends in exchange for a promise of not fighting the Silver Samurai. Wolverine accepted these terms and went to rescue his friends. Trusting Mariko's information, Wolverine and Rogue went to a warehouse and were ambushed by ninjas and the pair overcame their adversaries, only for the Silver Samurai to show up and hit them with knockout gas. Wolverine resisted long enough for Silver Samurai to re-issue his challenge and when he woke up, he went to the mansion to get some encouragement from Earth-80920's Professor X. He did him one better and telepathically summoned forth an image of Wolverine's former master from Wolverine's memories, allowing Wolverine to become reacquainted with his samurai training. When he later met Silver Samurai for the duel, which forbade the use of mutant powers, he did so as a samurai and Silver Samurai trash-talked him the entire time, using Mariko as leverage against him. Despite this, Wolverine maintained his composure and won the fight when Silver Samurai activated his mutant powers and disgraced himself. Wolverine ensured that his friends would be returned and then finally learned that if Mariko had chosen Wolverine to wed, the Yakuza would have killed her.

(Wolverine & the X-Men cartoon episode - "Backlash") - Wolverine became very angry because the MRD had increased their efforts and were capturing more mutants than ever before. Even worse, Forge had discovered that the Sentinels were going to be run on a hivemind with a familiar name: Master Mold. Wolverine lamented his decision to not trash the Sentinel factory when he had a chance and was unable to contact Earth-80920's Professor X for guidance. With no other choice, he decided they had to assault the Sentinel factory again. He left Kitty Pryde at the mansion to guard Tildie. The assault on the factory began poorly with the team facing a group of Sentinels and continued that way until the Brotherhood arrived to help, allowing Wolverine and Forge to enter the Sentinel factory. While Wolverine and the Blob fought off Sentinels, Forge and Nightcrawler tried to get to the Master Mold terminal. Unfortunately, the arrival of the Brotherhood forced Master Mold to send out all available Sentinels against the two teams. Things seemed grim until Wolverine had Blob throw him at Master Mold. Wolverine disabled the computer by stabbing it and the X-Men returned to the mansion victorious but Wolverine learned that the future of Earth-80920 hadn't yet been averted.

(Wolverine & the X-Men cartoon episode - "Guardian Angel") - Wolverine met with Angel about his father's company producing a drug that could "cure" mutant powers. The meeting did not go well, leading to Angel flying off to deal with the problem and subsequently suffering severe injuries and the removal of his wings. Wolverine was very apprehensive about Angel's decision to take Mister Sinister up on an offer to restore his wings but Angel went with it anyway, becoming Archangel and re-visiting his father's company to violently stop the production of the mutant cure. Wolverine was able to intercept Archangel and while he was unable to stop him from destroying the cure, he was able to stop Archangel from killing his own father. In the end, Archangel was able to escape, though Wolverine swore he'd recover him.

(Wolverine & the X-Men cartoon episode - "Breakdown") - Wolverine led the X-Men in a battle against the Juggernaut, which the team lost when Cyclops became distracted by a vision of Jean Grey.

(Wolverine & the X-Men cartoon episode - "Rover") - Wolverine and Cyclops contacted Earth-80920's Professor X with the information that Jean Grey was likely the cause of the mansion's explosion. Earth-80920's Professor X hypothesized that the stress of the potential war between humans and mutants could have caused Jean to lose control and would eventually cause Jean Grey to destroy the world. He then left it to Wolverine to figure out how to stop that from happening. Later, he informed Wolverine that he only had eight days to prevent such destruction.

(Wolverine & the X-Men cartoon episode - "Aces & Eights") - Wolverine learned that someone was destined to steal Magneto's helmet, helping to start the human/mutant war. Wolverine set off with Nightcrawler to stop this from happening and waited on the X-Men's Blackbird jet while Nightcrawler did all the legwork. When Nightcrawler returned, he relayed that Magneto was going after Senator Kelly for revenge after Kelly had earlier ordered the thief Gambit to place explosives around Genosha. Wolverine sent Kitty Pryde and Rogue to stop him and then brought both Magneto and Senator Kelly back to the mansion to have a psychic chat with Earth-80920's Professor X about what their conflict would eventually cause. Senator Kelly got the message and promised to stop stoking the anti-mutant sentiment.

(Wolverine & the X-Men cartoon episode - "Shades of Grey") - Wolverine was knocked unconscious by a psychic wave uncontrollably released by Jean Grey, who had been amnesiac in a hospital while the X-Men thought her missing. Later, he was woken up by Emma Frost and Nightcrawler so that they could go rescue Cyclops and Jean Grey, who had been captured by Mister Sinister. After the battle, he witnessed the Phoenix Force manifest within Jean Grey. Wolverine then took Jean Grey back to the mansion, only to be once again rendered unconscious by an unidentified assailant.

(Wolverine & the X-Men cartoon episode - "Foresight, Part 1") - Awaking, Wolverine discovered that Jean Grey had been taken and tried to track her, only to discover that her kidnappers had left with her in a helicopter and that Emma Frost had likely betrayed the X-Men by previously rendering the team unconscious on behalf of the Inner Circle group, who were attempting to harness the Phoenix Force for their own ends. Wolverine locked Emma up and went to consult Earth-80920's Professor X about his predicament. He then discovered that Cyclops had let Emma go but was luckily called away from the war room before his temper could get the better of him. It was there that he was told of Magneto's newest plan to abduct Senator Kelly, replace him with Mystique and have the false Senator Kelly jump-start the human/mutant war by launching all of the Sentinels at Genosha. Wolverine led an assault on the rebuilt Sentinel factory but was too late to stop the launch. The Blackbird was knocked out of the sky by a Sentinel, incapacitating Wolverine in the process.

(Wolverine & the X-Men cartoon episode - "Foresight, Part 2") -  Wolverine woke up while being apprehended by MRD troops, who had arrived to apprehend the X-Men. He tried to fight his way out but had to be rescued by Emma Frost, though she had only intended to rescue Cyclops. Wolverine went after Cyclops and Emma and tasked Beast with disabling the Sentinels, though the task was doomed to failure thanks to Mystique's destruction of the factory.

(Wolverine & the X-Men cartoon episode - "Foresight, Part 3") - Wolverine witnessed Magneto's reprogrammed Sentinels attacking humanity and lamented that the MRD and SHIELD didn't have a chance. While the rest of the X-Men repelled the threat, Wolverine sought out Emma Frost at the headquarters of the Inner Circle. He had just found the headquarters when Professor X tried to relay a psychic message but it was too garbled for Wolverine to understand. Wolverine then tried to enter the Inner Circle's headquarters but was stopped by Harry Leland and Donald Pierce. As such, he was still outside when the Phoenix Force, using the Inner Circle's Stepford Cuckoos as hosts, tore through the building's ceiling in order to burn Genosha to the ground. He prowled the ruins and found a bound Emma Frost, nearly leaving her there before deciding otherwise. He then watched as Emma, who prevented Cyclops from intervening, sacrificed herself to first attempt to contain the Phoenix Force within her diamond form then release the Phoenix Force without a host when her diamond form proved unable to contain it. Afterwards, Wolverine and the rest of the X-Men went to meet with Earth-80920's Professor X, where they learned that while they had averted the potential future of Earth-80920, a new potential future where Apocalypse ruled had diverged instead.

Interesting note: At no point is Wolverine actually called "James Howlett," but he is called "Howlett" in the Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes "Meet Captain America" short and "James" by a scientist in the Wolverine & the X-Men episode "Stolen Lives."

In most cases, the Earth-8096 characters were very similar to their 616 counterparts. The exception is Rogue, who is more in line with her movie counterpart.

Wolverine has photo cameos in two more Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes episodes (listed above in the History section). Speaking of, I think I got the timeline right but I'm not 100% sure. I did my best.
Wolverine must have joined the X-Men prior to his appearance in the Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes episodes, as he is wearing an "X"-logo on his belt in those episodes. The Avengers appearances must also occur before the main part of the story in the Wolverine & the X-Men cartoon series, which takes place one year into the near future. Either that, or the entirety of the Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes cartoon series is set in a near future at some point after the Wolverine & the X-Men cartoon series ended. I feel it's more likely that Wolverine's Avengers appearances occurred during the one-year sabbatical that Wolverine took from the X-Men following the Xavier Institute's destruction. - Proto-Man

While most online sources list the Hulk Versus animated film as the first appearance of Earth-8096's Wolverine, the first episode of the Wolverine & the X-Men cartoon actually predates the release of the Hulk Versus film by four days, making it technically the first appearance of Wolverine even if Hulk Versus was chronologically first.

Also, the dates of some of the cartoon episodes varied by region. When listing the dates, I chose to list the earliest air dates, regardless of what region in aired in so some of the dates reflect foreign release dates but they are the earliest dates the episodes aired.

To clarify, Earth-8096 encompasses a few animated Marvel projects at the time, including the Wolverine & the X-Men cartoon series, Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes cartoon series, both films in the Hulk Versus animated movie, the Thor: Tales of Asgard animated film, the second volume of the "Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes" comic book (which is not to be confused with the "Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes II" comic mini-series & featured stories set within the cartoon series world) and the Marvel Universe Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes comic book (which began with original stories set with the cartoon universe before later outright adapting the cartoon episodes, complete with screencapped art from the episodes).

Wolverine's eyes were blue in the Wolverine & the X-Men cartoon series but brown in other appearances. -Proto-Man
