History: (What If? II#75 (fb)) - At some point, Wolverine battled the Hulk. He later battled Magneto alongside the X-Men.
(What If? II#75) - Three years after the X-Men
disbanded, unaware that the world's good fortunes were due to the
temporal manipulations of the long-thought-deceased Blink,
Wolverine greeted his former teammate Banshee and reminded that,
despite the years of progress, there was still plenty of work to be
done. While smoking a cigar, Wolverine then informed Banshee that it
would be five years before Ethiopia would be fertile again. When
several hundred threats erupted on Earth all at once, the disbanded
X-Men were summoned together again by Professor X and Wolverine watched
as Professor X showed them video footage of the worldwide disasters in
an effort to determine the cause. Smoking a cigar, Wolverine then
listened as Banshee revealed the survival of Blink, whom Forge had
years earlier determined to be the cause of the X-Men's good fortunes.
When Banshee suggested destroying Blink to correct the timeline, Forge
and Storm argued that destroying Blink might reverse the progress the
world had made. Shocked that Storm would sacrifice the entire world for
the sake of progress, Banshee prepared to find and destroy Blink
himself but Wolverine and the assembled X-Men stood in his way,
announcing that they would not allow Banshee to endanger the lives
created and saved by the worldwide progress. Before the X-Men could
stop Banshee, however, Blink temporally manipulated events, causing
robot Sentinels and Napoleanic soldiers to bust through the wall,
distracting Wolverine and the other X-Men. As more temporal events
began to occur, Wolverine found himself battling and killing
neanderthals, unaware that one of them was his own
great-great-great-great grandfather. Banshee then used Cerebro to
transport himself outside of time, where Blink was being absorbed by
various timestreams, including one where Wolverine had tribal-like
markings on his face resembling that of Earth-295's Weapon X. Realizing
what she had to do the right the world, Blink allowed herself to be
seemingly destroyed by the various timelines she hoped to correct and
her sacrifice restored Earth-957 to a semblance of normalcy.
Comments: Created by Stefan Petrucha, Greg Luzniak and Andy Lanning.
Wolverine was never identified by name in his only
appearance but it seems likely that this reality's Wolverine would be
named James Howlett, much like his Earth-616 counterpart. Additionally,
his height and weight were approximated from that of his Earth-616
counterpart.
