History: (Excalibur I#94 (fb) - BTS) - At some point in the past, the extradimensional James Braddock installed a sophisticated computer system in the caves beneath Braddock Manor. James' son Dr. Brian Braddock eventually became the superheroic Captain Britain.

(Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe A to Z HC Vol. 2 - Corps entry (fb) - BTS) - Captain Britain represented Earth-9620 in the extradimensional Corps group.

(Excalibur I#94 (fb)) - By 1995 A.D., Europe was defended by the heroic Excalibur team comprised of Amanda Sefton, Kurt Wagner, Katherine Pryde, Piotr Rasputin, Pete Wisdom, Rahne Sinclair, Meggan, Dr. Brian Braddock, Douglock, Dr. Roderick Campbell and Dr. Moira MacTaggert. At some point after Pete Wisdom left the Black Air organization in the late 1990s, Amanda Sefton died at the hands of her mother. Circa 2013 A.D., robotic Sentinels fulfilled their programming, rounding up American mutants into concentration camps to await death. Despite arguments from Warren Worthington, Elizabeth Braddock returned home to Britain as the Sentinels activated and, shortly after the Sentinels' full takeover of America, Kurt Wagner returned to America, where he was killed while holding his mother's hand. Piotr and Katherine soon returned to America as well to marry and Excalibur's Douglock disappeared not long after, soon falling into the hands of Black Air, who dissected and used his techno-organic body as a living computer operating system. As the mutant roundup continued, Bobby Drake, Scott Summers, Warren Worthington and Charles Xavier were also killed as well as non-mutant superhuman Ben Grimm. The Sentinels eventually took to Europe and Britain, where the British security service known as Black Air was prepared and ultimately made a deal with the Sentinels to run Britain in exchange for ridding Britain of mutants for the Sentinels. Dr. Moira MacTaggert's Muir Island research facility was eventually abandoned and the remnants of Excalibur relocated to Britain's Braddock Manor, settling in the caves beneath the Manor. At some point, Dr. Brian Braddock and Meggan were married.

(Excalibur I#94) - Rahne Sinclair, emotionally worn from long periods spent in the caves beneath Braddock Manor, went over the surveillance feeds sent to Excalibur by the Resistance Coordination Executive, seeing the awful atrocities perpetuated on British mutants. Elizabeth Braddock soon arrived and greeted Rahne, remarking that Britain looked worse than America in recent days and wondering if she could have done something more if she hadn't returned to Britain against her friend Warren's suggestions before the Sentinels' American takeover. Rahne replied that Elizabeth would have only ended sharing a grave with Warren as Tangerine arrived to inform them that their leader, Pete Wisdom, wished to see them. Along the way, Rahne, Tangerine and Elizabeth met up with Captain Britain (Brian Braddock) and Meggan and together, they met with Pete Wisdom and Karma, who informed Excalibur that Wisdom had a mission for them. Wisdom then revealed that they had located the missing Douglock inside Black Air's Blackwall headquarters and explained that the knowledge Douglock might have acquired while inside the Blackwall could give Excalibur an edge over Black Air. Karma then partially possessed Brian Braddock to monitor the mission as Excalibur ventured out towards the Blackwall in their Midnight Runner stealth jet. Once inside the Blackwall, Excalibur found the walls were actually techno-organic warliquids that transformed themselves into the form of the alien Brood but Excalibur managed to defeat the warliquids and soon came to a door locked via a neural connection to a living brain. Elizabeth Braddock disabled the brain with a psychic knife and located Douglock, whose techno-organic body had been stretched across nearly the entire Blackwall. Realizing that the techno-organic warliquids had been part of Douglock's body and that they had been battling their own former teammate, Excalibur quickly found themselves surrounded by agents of Black Air.

(Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe A to Z HC Vol. 2 - Corps entry - BTS) - Earth-9620's Captain Britain was killed by the Black Air agents.

(Excalibur I#94) - The events involving Excalibur's raid on the Blackwall were subsequently relived in a dream of Earth-616's Captain Britain (Brian Braddock), who had witnessed the Earth-9620 events during a time period in which he was trapped in the timestream.

Comments: Created by Warren Ellis, Casey Jones and Tom Simmons.

The Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe A to Z HC Vol. 2's Corps entry stated that Captain Britain was killed leading Excalibur against Black Air. It can be presumed that the rest of Excalibur also perished in the battle but it was never clearly stated or shown. In addition, Captain Britain was only referred to as Dr. Brian Braddock throughout Excalibur I#94 and was not confirmed to use the codename of Captain Britain until the aforementioned Corps Handbook entry. Similarly, other characters did not use their Earth-616 codenames on Earth-9620, including Rahne Sinclair (Wolfsbane), Bobby Drake (Iceman), Elizabeth Braddock (Psylocke), Ben Grimm (Thing), Amanda Sefton (Daytripper), Scott Summers (Cyclops), Kurt Wagner (Nightcrawler), Warren (Archangel), Katherine Pryde (Shadowcat), Piotr Rasputin (Colossus) and Charles Xavier (Professor X).

I see no reason to think that the story of Earth-9620 could not have occurred on the supposedly topical dates listed in the issue (Excalibur's activity in 1995 & the Sentinels' takeover in 2013). Perhaps on Earth-9620, there was no sliding time scale...

The divergent point for this reality would have been when Black Air made their deal with the Sentinels to rule Britain.

CLARIFICATIONS:
Earth-9620 has no known connections to:

Black Air

Black Air was a subversive British security service that acquired the techno-organic Douglock following Douglock's disappearance. When robotic Sentinels took over America, Black Air prepared for the eventuality that Sentinels would come to Europe. When the Sentinels did as predicted, Black Air arranged a deal with the Sentinels to rule over all of Britain in exchange for rounding up and ridding Britain of all mutants for the Sentinels. As Black Air's influence grew, they dissected and transformed Douglock into the living computer operating system for the computers in their Blackwall headquarters. Years later, when the resistant Excalibur team learned of Douglock's presence within the Blackwall, they stormed the Blackwall to retrieve their teammate and the information he had supposedly learned while inside the Blackwall. Upon finding Douglock's systems stretched across the entire Blackwall, Excalibur was surrounded by Black Air agents, who killed at least Captain Britain, if not the entire Excalibur team.

Blackwall

The Blackwall was the headquarters of the Black Air organization. Following Black Air's dissection of the techno-organic Douglock, Douglock's systems were stretched across the entire Blackwall facility, acting as a living operating system as well as security in the form of techno-organic warliquids that could assume any shape. Upon learning that their missing former teammate was inside the Blackwall, Excalibur invaded the Blackwall, only to find Douglock stretched throughout the facility and themselves surrounded by Black Air agents, who killed Captain Britain, if not the entire team.

The Blackwall had a vast computer system stretching the entirety of the complex and was equipped with techno-organic warliquid defense systems that could assume any shape.

James Braddock

Hailing from an alternate dimension, James Braddock made his home at Braddock Manor and installed an advanced computer systems into the caves beneath the Manor. It was unclear what Braddock's ultimate fate was.

Braddock Manor

Decades ago, the extradimensional Braddock Manor installed an advanced computer system into the caves beneath his home at Braddock Manor. Following Black Air's takeover of Britain, the heroic Excalibur team abandoned their former Muir Island headquarters and took refuge in the caves beneath the ruins of Braddock Manor, where the Resistance Coordination Executive sent Excalibur surveillance footage.

From the ground level, Braddock Manor appeared to be the remnants of a ruined mansion but it possessed a series of underground caves that housed advanced computer systems. The caves also housed a launchpad for Excalibur's stealth jet, the Midnight Runner.

--Excalibur I#94

Dr. Roderick Campbell and Dr. Moira MacTaggert

Drs. Roderick Campbell and Moira MacTaggert were former members of the heroic Excalibur superhero team based out of Muir Island. It was unclear what became of them following the robotic Sentinels' takeover of America and Black Air's subsequent takeover of Britain but Excalibur ultimately abandoned Muir Island to return to Britain.

--Excalibur I#94

Douglock

Douglock was a techno-organic being and former member of the heroic superhero team Excalibur. Following the robotic Sentinels' takeover of America, Douglock mysteriously disappeared and was secretly captured by the subversive Black Air organization that subsequently took over Britain. Following his capture, Douglock was tortured, dissected and transformed into the living computer operating system utilized by Black Air's Blackwall headquarters. Years later, when Excalibur was given information that Douglock's organic signal was traced to the Blackwall, they invaded the Blackwall to retrieve Douglock and any information he might have acquired while in the Blackwall. Unfortunately, Excalibur soon learned that Douglock's systems had been stretched throughout the Blackwall and portions of his techno-organics had been transformed into warliquids capable of assuming any shape. Realizing that had been fighting Douglock's own systems to find him, Excalibur was soon confronted by Black Air, who killed at least Captain Britain, if not the entire team.

Excalibur

Excalibur was Europe's premier superhero team and by 1995 A.D., the team had grown to include Drs. Roderick Campbell and Moira MacTaggert, Katherine Pryde, Piotr Rasputin, Amanda Sefton, Kurt Wagner, the techno-organic Douglock, mutant lycanthrope Rahne Sinclair, the elemental Meggan, Captain Britain and government agent Pete Wisdom. The team eventually began to drift apart as Sentinels began taking over America. Following Amanda Sefton's death at her mother's hands, Kurt Wagner returned to America and was killed clutching his own mother's hand. Katherine Pryde and Piotr Rasputin then followed to America and were married, and Douglock mysteriously disappeared, secretly captured by the Black Air organization. Pete Wisdom remained with Excalibur alongside Captain Britain and Meggan, who were eventually married, an increasingly withdrawn Rahne Sinclair, and new recruits including the young telepath Tangerine, Captain Britain's sister Elizabeth Braddock and mutant possessor Karma. Working with the Resistance Coordination Executive, Excalibur viewed surveillance footage sent by R.C.X. and ultimately located their missing former teammate Douglock, invading Black Air's Blackwall headquarters to retrieve Douglock. Upon invading the Blackwall, Excalibur learned that Douglock had been transformed into Black Air's living computer operating systems and they were surrounded by Black Air agents, who killed at least Captain Britain, if not the rest of the team.

The Midnight Runner

The Midnight Runner was Excalibur's stealth jet that could launch from the caves of Braddock Manor. Excalibur took the Midnight Runner to Black Air's Blackwall headquarters to retrieve their missing former teammate Douglock.

The Midnight Runner was equipped with several different stealth fields to prevent it from being seen and it possessed VTOL (Vertical Take Off & Landing) capabilities.

The Sentinels

The Sentinels were robots programmed to destroy all mutants. When their protocol activated in 2013 A.D., the Sentinels quickly captured and sent most mutants to concentration camps to await death. Eventually completely taking over America, the Sentinels turned their attention towards Europe and Britain but the Black Air organization made a deal with the Sentinels to control Britain in exchange for ridding Britain of its mutants for the Sentinels.

--Excalibur I#94

Warren Worthington III

As the Sentinels rose to power, Warren Worthington III warned his friend Elizabeth Braddock not to leave America but Elizabeth nonetheless returned home to Britain and America was ultimately taken over by the Sentinels.
