History:
(Red Warrior#1/2 (fb) - BTS) - Flaming Arrow became a
member of the Comanche Secret Order of Red Dogs, just like Red
Warrior, but Flaming Arrow grew jealous of Red Warrior's
accomplishments. One day, hidden, he cowardly fired a war arrow when Red
Warrior was having a meal while out scouting, but missed and ran away.
(Red Warrior#1/2) - Having identified it as a
Comanche arrow, Red Warrior returned to camp to identify the culprit,
only to be confronted by the firebrand Flaming Arrow trying to rouse
fellow tribe members against Red Warrior, citing him an idle chief's
son
who contributed little. A brawl between them was quickly stopped and
instead an
honor duel at the burial grounds was decided by a tribal elder to be
held that night, with only one warrior allowed to return. That
night the two met wearing the headdress of their Secret Order and both
believed there were no witnesses. Red
Warrior silently asked his god Manitou
for bravery and to endure pain, whichever way the duel ended. Flaming
Arrow was so determined to kill that he readily broke a sacred rule
during
the fight. Flaming Arrow was about to spear his weakened opponent
when the god Manitou intervened, distracting him with lightning. Red
Warrior quickly recovered and killed Flaming Arrow. Chief Grey Eagle
emerged, having watched from a distance but forbidden to intervene, and
stated he was proud of his son.
