History:
(2-Gun Western#4/3 (fb) - BTS) - The Gun-Barrel Kid's
gang had a bad reputation. They were wanted in Wade County for
rustling. One day, the Gun-Barrel Kid went into the small town of
Hawk's Nest, Arizona, by himself while his gang stayed in the nearby
hills. The local sheriff, Cal Tilburn, who had great reverence for the
law, yet had no deputies as support, promptly arrested the Kid.
(2-Gun Western#4/3) - Tilburn marched the Kid to the
sheriff's office's jail to the astonishment and warnings of the
townsfolk. Nightfall came and the Kid's gang surrounded the sheriff's
office, firing wildly with Tilburn severely outgunned. But the townsfolk
defended their sheriff, firing over the outlaws' heads until they
surrendered and were also marched into the jail to join the Gun-Barrel
Kid.

CLARIFICATIONS
:
The Gun-Barrel Kid has no known connections to:
Cal Tilburn was the sheriff of the small town of
Hawk's Nest in Arizona and he had great respect for the law, but had no
deputies as support. He arrested notorious outlaw the Gun-Barrel Kid
when he entered the town, despite knowing the gunslinger's gang in the
nearby hills would come for him. Tilburn locked the Kid in the
sheriff's office's jail and told his helper, Seth, to leave before
trouble started. The Kid's gang attacked at nightfall and Tilburn was
greatly outgunned, but the townsfolk came out in support of their
sheriff, shooting over the heads of the gang members and marching the
outlaws into the jail to join the Kid as well. Tilburn proudly declared
that no man is bigger than the law and that the law is the people.
