(All-New Inhumans#8 (fb) - BTS) - Dijyen grew up in Utolan, a private Inhuman society in Mozambique where they had cut off all contact with the outside world. He saw his older brother die in Terrigenesis, so he was forbidden to undergo transformation himself.

(All-New Inhumans#8 (fb) ) - Dijyen fell in love with Irellis, and she became pregnant without the permission of the Maternal Council of Elders, though they did grant their approval belatedly. She soon gave birth to a daughter, Ikelli. Dijyen could not bear the thought of possibly losing his daughter to Terrigen, but they knew that if they only had one child, she would get the choice to enter the mists or not. When Irellis became pregnant a second time, Dijyen despaired, and he took his newborn son, Jaycen, and fled Utolan, thinking that he was saving his daughter.

(Inhuman#5 (fb) - BTS) - Dijyen placed Jaycen in northern Minnesota, to be raised by a white family.

(All-New Inhumans#8 (fb) - BTS) - While returning to Utolan, Dijyen was killed for his betrayal.

(All-New Inhumans#8 (fb) ) - Irellis fell in love with Dijyen and got pregnant, without permission from the Maternal Council of Elders. The Council granted permission for she and Dijyen to go ahead and have the child. She soon gave birth to a daughter, Ikelli. Dijyen could not bear the thought of possibly losing his daughter to Terrigen, but they knew that if they only had one child, she would get the choice to enter the mists or not. When Irellis became pregnant a second time, Dijyen despaired, and he took his newborn son, Jaycen, and fled Utolan, thinking that he was saving his daughter, but he was later killed for his betrayal. Irellis chose to give Ikelli over to Terrigenesis, and she underwent a painful transformation, developing the ability to manipulate energy tendrils that lived under her skin. Ikelli began training as one of the champions of Utolan, but she grew distant from her mother after that.

(All-New Inhumans#7) - When Flint, Gorgon, and Ana Kravinoff entered the city, Irellis rushed out, recognizing her son as Flint. She embraced him, explained that he had been taken from her, and promised to explain the next day. She then introduced Jason to his sister, Ikelli.

(All-New Inhumans#8) - Irellis showed Jason into a temporary apartment, and later she heard Sanara mention Jason’s father. Irellis showed him in to a feast that she had prepared in his honor, then she told him more about her history and that of Utolan, telling him his real name of ‘Jaycen’, and mentioning how his father had been killed. When Jason was distressed, Irellis hugged him and apologized. Ikelli entered the room, seeing how her mother had made a feast for Jason, and she questioned him about the missing Ana Kraven. Jason rushed out in distress, and Ikelli exited after mentioning that her mother had never made a feast for her.

(All-New Inhumans#9) - Flint was furious to hear that Gorgon had been arrested for allegedly assaulting a woman, and he angrily told the Maternal Council of Elders that Ikelli could not be trusted. Irellis advised Flint to show caution. Irellis saw Sanara enter Gorgon’s cell to take a genetic sample, and Ikelli pressured Gorgon to let the sample be taken as it was a lesser punishment than they might have offered. Ikelli and Sanara told Flint he was responsible for finding Ana. Despite Irellis’s protestations, Sanara led the champions to arrest Flint, especially after hearing that the Terrigen Cloud was headed toward Utolan. Irellis offered to stand outside the walls as tribute, knowing the mists would kill her, and believing that Flint had the power to turn them away to save her.

(All-New Inhumans#10) - Irellis stood outside with Flint and wondered at the approaching Terrigen Cloud, which she found wonderful and he found traumatic. Ikelli and the champions attacked, and Ikelli used her powers to force Flint to summon the Terrigen Cloud near them, and to tear down the mountain protecting Utolan. Ikelli lectured her mother on how half the city was about to die, but Flint managed to seize control of his powers and fight Ikelli, who savagely fought back. Naja and Grid arrived, helping to end the fight, and they began evacuating Utolan. Irellis chose to stay and work on her relationship with Ikelli, but she emphasized to Jason how proud she was of him.
