History:
(Iron Fist: The Living Weapon#5 (fb) - BTS) - An unidentified K'un-Lun warrior defeated Shou-Lao, earning the power and title of Iron Fist.
(Iron Fist: The Living Weapon#5 (fb) - BTS) - This Iron Fist triumphed in the Challenge of the Many.
(Iron Fist: The Living Weapon#5) - Standing in the middle of the arena amidst the fallen Many, this Iron Fist proclaimed his victory and demanded to meet the Challenge of the One.
Yu-Ti (Nu-An) asked the Iron Fist if he was ready to earn his position as the keeper of K'un-Lun.
When the Iron Fist replied in the affirmative, Yu-Ti advised him to recall all of his teachings as he faced the Challenge of the One.
Noting that he had trained for this moment every waking hour, this Iron Fist exclaimed that it was time for him to earn his place in the kingdom of the righteous, and that his name would be spoken on the lips of children for a thousand generations as the most mighty of any to wield the chi of Shou-Lao.
With his chi fully summoned, the Iron Fist charged the One, who sidestepped his strike, caught his wrist, and smashed the Iron Fist in the pack with a devastating blow.
The One then kicked the Iron Fist back and then apparently leapt to meet him as he landed.
As the crowd jeered the Iron Fist, the One hurled him into the stands, where he landed between Sparrow and the young Daniel Rand.
The One leapt up after the Iron Fist, and the spectators fled. Though Daniel was reluctant to leave, fearing that the One would kill the Iron Fist, Sparrow pulled him away, advising Daniel, "it was his challenge...his fate."
The Iron Fist summoned his chi, but the One delivered a fatal blow, and the glowing fist faded and collapsed.
(Iron Fist: The Living Weapon#5 (fb) - BTS)
- From this, Daniel realized that claiming the Iron Fist wasn't a prize
rewarding a life of hardship, but only the beginning; and if you didn't
clench your hand tightly enough, the iron could be taken at any time.
