When Jack attempted suicide multiple times, his powers protected him, though his skin still scarred. Jack was connected to a paramilitary unit and had access to offensive weaponry.

History:
(All-New Inhumans#1/1 (fb) - BTS) - After undergoing Terrigenesis in Sydney, Australia, Jack emerged from the cocoon hating himself, and hating the Inhumans. He tried to kill himself, but realized he couldn't die, even though his skin seemed to keep the scars from his attempt. Jack tried offing himself more times, but the attempts just continued leaving scars. Jack soon disguised himself and joined a paramilitary unit of humans who hated Inhumans. They soon captured the newly transformed Ash Minnick, a blue Inhuman woman, and caged her.
(All-New Inhumans#1/1) - As the paramilitary unit yelled to the crowd about how freaks like Minnick didn't deserve to live, a group of Inhumans arrived to save her, including Crystal, Naja, Flint, Grid, and Gorgon. Crystal fired water and air on the crowd, but Jack was furious at her and revealed his Inhuman nature as he ripped off his mask and shirt. The militants turned on Jack, trying to kill him, but Inhumans Flint, Grid, Gorgon, and Captain Swain arrived in time to save Jack and Crystal from gunfire. Jack tried one last attack, but Crystal removed the air from his lungs, knocking him out.
(All-New Inhumans#4) - In captivity on the R.I.V., Jack screamed when the ship had major turbulences. Later, Swain confided in Jack about her struggles with emotional manipulation, and he called her a monster.
(All-New Inhumans#5 (fb) - BTS) - The Inhumans worked to understand Jack's powers, and realized his skin shifted chemical components around to keep him safe from harm, though he still felt pain.
(All-New Inhumans#5) - Panacea and Gorgon placed Jack in a combat training session, watching his powers adapt to different kinds of attacks. Jack showed anger and finally began fighting back, then they sent Naja in to spar with him. Naja tried helping Jack find motivation to thrive as an Inhuman. Jack was annoyed and used an exploding robot to break himself out of the training room, then launched himself through a teleporter to escape. He found himself in the Inhumans' armory on the Moon, surrounded by offensive weaponry.
(All-New Inhumans#6) - Gorgon, Panacea, and Naja teleported to the Moon with Lockjaw, and Jack grabbed a gun. Jack attacked with an energy rifle, refusing to surrender as he shot Gorgon. After sending off a transmission, Jack tried escaping but landed in space, and the Inhumans apprehended him.
