History:
(Daredevil III#1 (fb) - BTS) - A Muslim business owner in New York City, Mr. Jobrani alleged that he'd been savagely beat by policemen who used racial epithets against him. Seeking to sue the police department, Jobrani had direct proof but could find no attorneys to take his case.

(Daredevil III#2 (fb) - BTS) - Ahmed Jobrani lost his business, Jobrani Electronics, which had been in his family for three generations, and he vowed to buy the entire building if he won his case. Gene Loren was among the attorneys who turned Jobrani down.

(Daredevil III#3 (fb) - BTS) - Jobrani began hearing voices that told him to drop his case. He had a psychiatric evaluation that detailed the voices.

(Daredevil III#1) - In court, Mr. Jobrani was answering questions on the stand as the defense attorney continued alleging that Matt Murdock was the hero Daredevil, a claim Matt denied. The judge dropped the case and encouraged Jobrani to get better counsel.

(Daredevil III#3) - Jobrani was visited by Foggy Nelson, who had learned about the evaluation. Foggy apologized but said he could no longer help Jobrani or recommend another attorney. Matt Murdock, after discovering that Klaw was behind Jobrani's struggles and the voices, helped Jobrani learn to represent himself in court. Jobrani was reluctant at first but spent time preparing. He soon took the case to court and Matt and Foggy believed he would win his case.

(Daredevil III#2 (fb) - BTS) - Gene Loren developed a reputation as an attorney who would take social justice cases, especially those who had been wronged by the system, even though it often meant that he lost more cases than he won. Loren took the case of Ahmed Jobrani, who'd been the victim of police brutality, but mysterious threatening calls started coming in to his home that threatened Jobrani's boyfriend, so Loren dropped the case.

(Daredevil III#2) - Gene was standing with his boyfriend when Daredevil approached, asking about Jobrani. Gene nervously told the hero what had happened.
