History:
(Daredevil I#198 (fb) - BTS) - Lord Darkwind recruited young men to serve in his private army on his private island, among them was Kira. Kira trained as a soldier, but he fell in love with Darkwind's daughter, Yuriko Oyama, seeing past the scars on her face.
(Daredevil I#199) - Kira prepared himself for war as Lord Darkwind's enemies drew near, but Darkwind instead wanted Kira to escort Bullseye by boat to the mainland. Ashamed, Kira asked if he could wear his swords, and Darkwind said yes so long as they were kept sheathed. On the boat, Kira realized that Bullseye (who was recently out of surgery) was not going to keep his promise to Darkwind and become his assassin. Kira was furious and drew his sword, but Bullseye hit him in the head with a bottle, and Kira fell overboard. Back ashore, Kira was reunited with Yuriko and her ally Daredevil. Kira was ashamed at letting Darkwind down, but Yuriko said he was free of Darkwind forever, as she'd helped defeat him.
(Alpha Flight I#34 (fb)) - Unable to contain his shame, Kira committed suicide by seppuku in front of Yuriko, bidding her farewell.
