History:
(Daredevil V#23 (fb) - BTS) - The attorney known as Legal worked for Tony Stark's companies for years, once facing off against Jennifer Walters in court. Legal prided himself on never having lost a case, and he had a reputation for being Stark's top lawyer.
(Daredevil V#25 (fb) - BTS) - Legal had cases at the Supreme Court.
(She-Hulk III#1) - She-Hulk visited Legal on the 18th floor of Stark Tower, representing Holly Harrow, who claimed Tony Stark had stolen technology from her relative, Dr. Jonas Harrow, who was now deceased. Legal overwhelmed She-Hulk with a long speech about Stark's complicated company history, implying that Holly couldn't know who to sue. She-Hulk and Harrow took Stark's legal team to court, where Legal delayed events by filing multiple briefs and injunctions, putting the trial off for weeks. She-Hulk soon won the case by appealing to Stark himself, and Stark decided on a settlement.
(Daredevil V#23) - Legal made his services available to Mayor Fisk/Kingpin, offering to represent him in an upcoming case, where Matt Murdock at the prosecutor's office was seeking to make it so super-heroes could keep their masks on while in court, and the case was headed for the New York Court of Appeals. Fisk hired Legal as he finished boxing, and Legal was disturbed that the bag seemed to be bleeding on the floor. Legal was appointed to work for Simon "Slug" Slugansky, the criminal whose trial Murdock was making his case in. Two weeks later, Legal addressed the Court of Appeals with his arguments, and Matt Murdock, flanked by Ben Hochberg, sat at the other table.
(Daredevil V#24 (fb) - BTS) - Legal narrowly won the case at the Court of Appeals, with a vote 4 to 3 in his favor.
(Daredevil V#24) - Legal met with Mayor Fisk, preparing to end their professional relationship, but Fisk warned Legal that he thought Murdock might appeal the case to the Supreme Court, though Legal considered that a desperate move on Murdock's part.
(Daredevil V#25 (fb) - BTS) - Legal soon got word that Murdock was taking the case to the Supreme Court.
(Daredevil V#25) - At the Supreme Court, in front of the clerk Dana, Legal and Murdock were reminded of protocol for addressing the judges. Legal passionately shared why he practiced law to Matt, who successfully guessed that Fisk had hired Legal, making Legal nervous. Before the judges, Legal and Murdock both presented their cases. Ten days later, the Supreme Court ruled in Murdock's favor.
