History: (Spider-Man Magazine I#7) - Loaf Man
used his somewhat odd superhuman abilities as a superhero, battling
threats such as Butter Ball.
Comments: Created by Barry de Vries.
Loaf Man was a product of the 1994 Spider-Man Magazine's "Create Your Own Super Hero or Super-Villain" section that ran in most earlier issues of the Magazine. In Loaf Man's case, he was created by then-13-year-old Barry de Vries of Renfrew, Ontario, Canada. As a fringe character, Loaf Man was not confirmed to exist on Earth-616 but there is no evidence to say he didn't exist on Earth-616 either...
Loaf Man's height and weight were impossible to approximate, as he was never seen next to a character whose height and weight had been officially determined. Additionally, his eye color was also impossible to determine, as the only image of him shows big white eyes with little black dots for irises.
Loaf Man's origin was never given so we can only guess at whether he was a mutant, mutate, Deviant, Inhuman, Eternal, etc. My vote is that he's a mutant with a fairly humorous superhuman power.
Any resemblance between Loaf Man and Gaston from Disney's Beauty & the Beast is purely coincidental (I think).
I feel like Loaf Man is a character with such a
bizarre super power that he's just BEGGING to be brought back
somewhere, possibly in an issue of Deadpool or Squirrel Girl!
