Comments: Created by John Dawson.
Mantis Man was a product of the 1994 Spider-Man Magazine's "Create Your Own Super Hero or Super-Villain" section that ran in most earlier issues of the Magazine. In Mantis Man's case, he was created by then-11-year-old John Dawson of Bremerton, Washington. As a fringe character, Mantis Man was not confirmed to exist on Earth-616 but there no evidence to say he didn't either...
Mantis Man's origin was never revealed but I feel like he could be a mutant...
Despite being able to transform into any insect,
Mantis Man chose to use the mantis as his inspiration for a superhero
codename. Maybe it was just his favorite insect...?
