History: (Uncanny Inhumans I#19 (fb) - BTS) - Off the coast of Viet Nam in the South China Sea, the Maw Queen ruled over an undersea kingdom of monsters. She made her dwelling inside of a massive sea monster, where she sat on a throne while her attendants waited on her.
(Uncanny Inhumans I#19) - Maximus the Mad, Triton, the Unspoken and Lineage, four members of the Inhumans, made their way into the Maw Queen's kingdom, killing one of her warriors on the way in. When they approached the throne, the Maw Queen demanded to know who they were and Maximus asked for an amphora of her Deep-Eggs, the most valuable treasure of her realm. The Maw Queen was reluctant until the Unspoken was offered to her in trade to be her husband, the king at her side. After licking the Unspoken (who was mentally manipulated by Maximus into accepting the agreement), Maw Queen agreed and turned over the Deep-Eggs. (Uncanny Inhumans I#20 (fb) - BTS) - The Unspoken promised to spawn with the Maw Queen if she helped him get revenge. He made plans to take the sea monster she was living in, going after Maximus. (Uncanny Inhumans I#19) - The sea monster went to the surface. (Uncanny Inhumans I#20) - The Unspoken found Maximus, Triton and Lineage, now with Banyan and Kludge, in Mumbai and he stormed ahead, attacking with the sea monster, but Maximus fought back with a giant robot he had constructed. When the robot killed the sea monster with a Terrigen-powered sword, the Unspoken accessed the Terrigen and grew to giant-size then destroyed the robot. The Unspoken was soon defeated and the Maw Queen was not seen in the aftermath.Comments: Created by Charles Soule, Kim Jacinto and Ario Anindito.
The Maw Queen was somehow both horrible and adorable. She seemed to be partly based on a cuttlefish and partly on an angler fish. She may have perished when her monster was killed but I like to think she escaped.Profile by Chadman.
