Powers/Abilities: Mr. Hyle was a criminal ringleader with contacts and resources, one unafraid to use guns and force to teach lessons or get revenge. He carried trick knives (that fired projectiles) up his sleeves and was proficient at using them. He also had a pet leopard, Ramona, that he kept on a leash.

History: (Daredevil
I#162 (fb) – BTS) – Mr. Hyle grew up in "the ghetto," learning to
survive. He eventually became a criminal boss on the
streets with his pet leopard, Ramona, on a leash at his side. Hyle
employed
Puggy, a former boxer, and ran schemes in underground boxing matches,
where his
star fighter was Dover.
(Daredevil I#162) – Mr. Hyle waited in his car with Ramona and Puggy as his henchmen Louie and Hymie robbed the jewelry exchange. The two thugs were taken down by a strange man (Matt Murdock/Daredevil) who didn't remember his own identity as he'd been exposed to radiation among scientists like Toomey. Hyle ordered Puggy to recruit the man and Hyle invited him to box for him after the man was unafraid of Ramona. The man spent the following weeks working his way up through the boxing circuit, defeating Dover and others. In time, Hyle wanted the man to take a fall and when Puggy disagreed, Hyle threatened him with Ramona. Hyle had his men, including Sammy, place bets all over town. The man won his fight despite his orders and Hyle was furious, ordering the man killed. After Puggy took the bullet for the man, Daredevil's memories were awakened and he retreated into the locker room. Hyle sent Ramona in after him but Daredevil defeated the leopard. Hyle then pulled out his blades and lunged, accidentally stabbing Ramona instead of Daredevil. Ramona then lashed out at Hyle.

but never championship material so he got the nickname "Puggy" for
being a "pug." He eventually worked for criminal Mr. Hyle, who kept a
scary leopard
named Ramona on a leash. Puggy would work with fighters including Dover
in
Mr. Hyle's criminal enterprise.
(Daredevil I#162) – While Louie and Hymie
completed a
robbery, Puggy waited in the car with Mr. Hyle and Ramona but a
civilian (an
amnesiac Matt Murdock/Daredevil) defeated them. Impressed with the
man's
fighting prowess, Puggy recruited him for Hyle, who laughed as Puggy
shied away
from Ramona. When the man defeated Dover in the first match, Puggy
spent weeks
training him to be a better fighter, though he warned the man about
Hyle. As
the money started rolling in, Hyle ordered the man to take a fall.
Puggy
expressed his frustration with this decision and Hyle frightened him
with
Ramona. After the man won the fight, Puggy rushed him out of the ring
and into
the locker room, where two criminals shot at him. Puggy took the shots
and was killed
as the man cried out "Father!," his memories returning of how he'd lost
his own
father in similar circumstances.

(Daredevil I#162 (fb) – BTS) – A ferocious
leopard, Ramona
was the pet of criminal, Mr. Hyle. He kept her on a leash nearby and
she
followed his commands.
(Daredevil I#162) – Mr. Hyle kept Ramona in the
car with Puggy and himself while a robbery was committed. When a man
(an amnesiac Matt
Murdock/Daredevil) stopped the robbery, Hyle tried intimidating him
with
Ramona but the man wasn't afraid. Weeks later, Hyle had Ramona
intimidate
Puggy into following orders. When Hyle later killed Puggy, the man got
his
memories as Daredevil back and he rushed into a dark locker room.
Ramona was
sent in after him and she stalked Daredevil but the hero triumphed and
threw
her out of the open door and into Hyle. Hyle drew knives to stab
Daredevil but
accidentally stabbed Ramona instead. Ramona savagely lashed back out at
Hyle.

(Daredevil I#162) – Sammy placed several bets for criminal Mr. Hyle then watched a staged boxing match, in which an amnesiac Matt Murdock/Daredevil competed.

Research
Center in Manhattan, Toomey worked with other professors to study
radiation.
(Daredevil I#162) – Realizing the meson radiation levels were too high, Toomey knew the entire city was at risk if they didn't have a miracle in less than three minutes. Luckily, Daredevil showed up and entered the radiation chamber without fear, fixing the problem.
