Powers/Abilities: Namora possesses superhuman strength beyond typical Atlanteans, enabling her to lift at least 75 tons; her skin is bulletproof and resistant to most other forms of impact, and her body can gradually overcome even the most virulent poisons. She can swim nearly 60mph and, flies at roughly the same speed via feather-like fins that form small small wings on her ankles. Prolonged dehydration(without any water contact or consumption), combined with repeated exertion, can reduce her strength and possibly kill her, although even slight contact with water will restore her. She possesses the normal Atlantean traits of a prolonged lifespan, body adaptation to deep underwater pressures, augmented vision to penetrate ocean depths, and specialized blood circulation to withstand freezing temperatures. Like Namor, Namora's lungs presumably contain oxygen-diffusing membranes, or lamellae, allowing her to extract oxygen from water as she inhales it; she can thus survive indefinitely either underwater or on land, but she must periodically make skin contact with water, preferably by immersion, to keep her powers replenished. Although Namora lacks the fully developed gills of typically Atlanteans, she presumably possesses vestigial, partially functional gills behind her ears that are nonetheless somehow essential to her respiration. Like her cousin, Namora has ankle-wings which enable her to fly.

Height: 5'11"
Weight: 189 lbs.

History:
(Giant-Size Marvel Adventures: Avengers#1 (fb) - BTS) - During the 1950's Namora was recruited to be part of a secret group of law enforcers arranged by the United States government. Alongside Marvel Boy, Gorilla Man, Venus, M-11 and team leader James Woo the group became known as the Agents of Atlas.

(Giant-Size Marvel Adventures: Avengers#1 (fb) - BTS) - In 1958, Namora and the Agents of Atlas received a visit from Kang the Conqueror of the Chronoverse. Kang revealed that Captain America was still alive, frozen in a block of ice in the Arctic, even providing the agents with the precise location. The Agents of Atlas were unaware Kang had done so to remove the present day Captain America from the timeline, since the Avengers had repeatedly foiled his plans. Upon arriving at the World War Two hero's frozen location in the Arctic Sea it was M-11 who defrosted Captain America, Namora helped the hero get on his feest while Woo welcomed him to 1958.

(Giant-Size Marvel Adventures: Avengers#1 (fb) - BTS) - In the time that followed Captain America as well as Kang joined the Agents of Atlas, helping them defend the United States and planet Earth.

(Giant-Size Marvel Adventures: Avengers#1 (fb) - BTS) - In 1959, Kang's instruments detected a meteor shower racing towards Earth. The original Agents of Atlas were determined to destroy it and prepared for an outer space mission.

(Giant-Size Marvel Adventures: Avengers#1 (fb) - BTS) - The original Agents of Atlas went into space to destroy the meteor shower but the celestial object had defied all readings, even Marvel Boy's. It turned out to be a traveling black hole, that pulled them in. Kang was able to redirect it, but he was too late to save the team. Namora and the others seemingly perished.

(Giant-Size Marvel Adventures: Avengers#1 - BTS) - In the years that passed a lot changed. All high-technology used in the states was manufactured using KangTech processors. Steve Rogers was elected President and the Secret Identities Act was passed, outlawing non-registered superhumans. The last days of Steve Rogers' two terms as President saw him presiding over a peaceful, unified world. As his final Executive Act, he nominated "future High Councilor Kang" to head the ruling body of the World Command.

(Giant-Size Marvel Adventures: Avengers#1 - BTS) - Kang visited the divergent Earth of 20051 where he revealed his plot to stop the Avengers once and for all. Just as Earth-7901 began to overlap with Earth-20051 Captain America merged with his Presidential counterpart, and Iron Man and Giant-Girl found that their tech-derived powers were rendered inoperative by their lack of KangTech. In the hopes of stopping Kang, Storm, Spider-Man and Wolverine traveled back to 1958, in order to prevent the Agents of Atlas from taking their fateful trip.

(Giant-Size Marvel Adventures: Avengers#1) - Just as Namora and the Agents of Atlas were about to board the spaceship to stop the meteor shower they were shocked by the sudden arrival of the extradimensional Avengers, Storm, Spider-Man and Wolverine. The two super groups initially clashed until the siren Venus used her abilities to calm everybody down. The extradimensional Avengers revealed Kang's perfidy to the Agents, and the teams together defeated Kang and his War Chariot. Using Kang's helmet, Marvel Boy, with the help from Storm, managed to open a portal into 1958 of Earth-20051 just when the Agents found the frozen Captain America. Pleading it wasn't Captain America's time to come back again Earth-20051's James Woo believed them and left the Arctic so he could be found years later by the Avengers. As a consequence of their actions, the Avengers' (Earth-20051) original timeline was restored. With the threat dealt with the Avengers returned to their home dimension where they jailed Kang for his crimes.

Giant-Size Marvel Adventures: Avengers#1 was a fun story, you should definitely go and read it. After the Avengers returned to their home dimension with the divergent Kang of Earth-7901 they were not so sure what happened with their own Kang of Earth-20051. Are we meant to believe they merged into one being after the timeline was restored? I doubt we'll ever know for sure.
