History:
(Bizarre Adventures II#1/3 (fb) - BTS) - Eveline, daughter of famed
vampire-hunter Abraham van Helsing learned of those who would stalk the
night from an early age.
(Bizarre Adventures II#1/3 - BTS) - Eveline married O'Reilly.
(Bizarre Adventures II#1/3 - BTS) - In a tragic event O'Reilly died, thus becoming a widow.
(Bizarre Adventures II#1/3 (fb) - BTS) - Eveline would regularly go out at night hunting for vampires, werewolves and other ghastly creatures.
(Bizarre Adventures II#1/3 (fb) - BTS) - Just before the second World War, Eveline learned the famous Russoff Trio were in fact werewolves and was determined to destroy the beasts.
(Bizarre Adventures II#1/3 (fb)) - Eveline visited
the Radium Girl Lounge where the Russoff Trio was set to perform. While
making herself familiar with her surroundings she caught the eye of
none other than Dracula who was infatuated by her beauty. Introducing
himself as Count Orlok, the two made their acquaintance. After making
some small talk on the club's balcony Eveline revealed she knew who he
was and revealed her maiden-name: van Helsing. Shocked and fearful she
would attack him, Eveline merely smirked she'd come to hunt werewolves.
Just then the Russoff Trio transformed into their
true forms, ready to attacked the club's guests. Joined together
Eveline and Dracula fought the threesome, it quickly became clear
Eveline didn't need the assistance as she easily bested the creatures.
In awe of the girl, Dracula watched as she ran away, leaving behind a
white rose.
(Bizarre Adventures II#1/3 - BTS) - Years passed as Eveline grew old she was taken care of by an apparent relative who was her spitting image (see comments).
(Bizarre Adventures II#1/3) - Then when Eveline lay on her deathbed, Dracula visited one last time, peeking through the window and left her a white rose in the window.
Comments: Created by Becky Cloonan and Michael Conrad.
This was such a sweet and fun
story, one can't help but wonder if Eveline had any other adventures
alongside Dracula.
It seems likely, as Dracula comments, "we
spent a lifetime in dance, the hunter and the hunted, trading back and
forth the upper hand...unrequited and locked away in the tombs we made
of our hearts."--Snood
Eveline's timeline isn't really
that clear: It's well possible that Eveline and her husband fought
those creatures of the night together which would've resulted in his
tragic death. Who knows, perhaps even at the hands of the Russoff Trio.
Another thing I'm unsure about is if Eveline's daughter comes from her
marriage to O'Reilly, one would think that if he'd already died before
the war their daughter should've been an elderly woman herself when
Eveline passed away. Personally I'd like to think the daughter is from
a later marriage.
The woman caring for Eveline sure has a striking resemblence to
Eveline's younger self, but she is not stated to be her daughter. If
the main story is meant to take place in the modern era, it is
extremely unlikely, as Eveline looked to be at least 20 if not 30+
before World War II, which started in 1939. Assuming she was only 20
and it was actually 1939, that would make her 100 years old at the time
the story was published, and a year older as time marches on (so 103 in
2022, as I write this). The daughter looked like she was in her 20's,
but even assuming that she was 30 or a little older, that would mean
Eveline was 70-73+ when she had the baby. Not impossible, but very
unlikely, and less likely with each year. So, if the story takes place
in the modern era/sliding timescale, then the caretaker, could be a
granddaughter, great-granddaughter, etc. Or maybe the resemblance is
coincidental.
However, if the framing sequence takes place in the past (and the
candle/lantern by the bedside and the decor makes it look that way),
then the woman could have been a daughter. Eveline certainly looks very
old, but people got older earlier in life in the mid-20th
century...maybe she was in her 60's and looked older because of poor
health...but again, it's all speculation.
Maybe another story will clarify, as I agree with Luc that Eveline was
an intriguing character, of whom I would like to see more.

Due to (1) Abraham van Helsing's having lost his first wife, Elizabeth, to vampires sometime before 1862, and his having died in 1900; (2) Percy Pinkerton of the Howling Commandos vowing to notify Abraham van Helsing of Dracula's activities during World War II; and (3) the sliding timescale, it was confirmed that the 19th century Abraham van Helsing was great-grandfather of the modern day Rachel van Helsing in her entry in the Vampires handbook. It has further been speculated that the 19th century Abraham van Helsing's son's name was also named Abraham, which would explain Percy's reference.
This works well with Eveline being the daughter of Abraham, as it seems hard to believe that she could be the son of a man who died in 1900 (and whose wife was insane, but still his legal and moral wife circa 1890). Thus, I am fairly confident that Evaline would be the daughter of Abraham, son of Abraham. As the sliding timescale marches on, even that is a little problematic, not so much for Evaline, but for existing relations. If Evaline is 20-30 circa 1939 and her father is grandfather of Rachel van Helsing, it seems a stretch for Evaline to be the aunt of Rachel who seemed to be about 30 in the modern age of Marvel. Certainly it is possible to have siblings be 20 or more years apart, and so it is not unreasonable, but I think Rachel will eventually become Abraham's great-great-granddaughter
