QUINNTEN race
Classification: Non-humanoid extraterrestrial race
Location/Base of Operations: Presumably in relative proximity to the Red Hole of Dargalla
Known Members: None identified;
presumably extinct
Affiliations: None;
one native sought the aid of the Omegex but died in
the process, its life energies instead fueling the Red Hole
Enemies: None identified
First Appearance: Hulk#29/2 (March, 2011)
Powers/Abilities: The Quinnten were not shown to have any particular superhuman abilities.
Traits: Little is known of the Quinnten beyond
the fact that they were somewhat superstitious, considering powerful beings to be deitities.
Type: Alien non-humanoid, presumably organic
Eyes: Unrevealed
(the image is not clear); possibly two (on head; either black eye
color, or the eyes had decomposed and oly the black sockets were seen)
Fingers: Unrevealed, possibly inapplicable
Toes: Unrevealed, possibly inapplicable
Skin color: Red (although it may have just been a glow from the nearby Red Hole)
Average height: Unrevealed
Other distinguishing features: The Quinnten's
appareance is difficult to determine from this single image. I can't
tell if they have a pair of black eyes with a central trunk/head/body
structure and then a pair of lateral fins, or whether the creature's
form is somewhat contorted and its actual shape is significantly
different.
History:
(Hulk#29/2 (fb) - BTS) - As the Quinnten were apparently dying off, one of their race was sent to a world near the Red Hole (created by the Kryihd, from which the genocidal Omegex was
periodically generated) to make an offering; their people believed that would cause the Omegex to spare their solar system.
The Quinnten's life energy became more fuel for the Red Hole to create a new Omegex.
(Hulk#28/2 (fb)- BTS /
Hulk#29/2) - Having
traveled to a world nearby the Red Hole, Uatu the Watcher noted the Quinnten's corpse and described its fate to Uravo the Watcher.
Comments: Created by Jeff Parker and Ben Oliver.
It is unrevealed whether the
Omegex was destroying the Quinnten and they were trying to appease it's
creator, or whether they just sought the Red Hole/Omegex's aid.
