(X-Men Unlimited I#4 (fb) - BTS) - Gunther Reinhold, a private detective was hired by the American Graydon Creed, the founder of the Friends of Humanity, to find out if the mutant shapeshifter Mystique was his biological mother.
(X-Men Unlimited I#4 (fb) - BTS) - While researching the case in Germany, Reinhold not only discovered Mystique was Creed's biological mother but also that Creed had a biological brother, the mutant X-Man Nightcrawler. Reinhold soon travelled to the South of France to meet Creed who at the time was dating French heiress Loretta.
(X-Men Unlimited I#4) - Welcomed by the French butler Jarroll, Reinhold was guided to the heiress' bedroom where Creed had just learned his associate General Armond Gaudier had been brutally murdered in an attempt to gain Creed's attention. Reinhold proudly revealed he happened onto more that just the info Creed wanted and even located a brother. Reinhold continued he would need considerable compensation for the additional information, threatening to otherwise use the information to hurt Creed. Enraged that Reinhold would blackmail him, Creed slashed the man's throat with a broken bottle, all while Loretta was watching. Creed then grabbed Reinhold, promising to provide sufficient help if he were to reveal his brother's name, Reinhold revealed Nightcrawler was Creed's biological brother. Realizing his entire family was made out of mutants Creed beat Reinhold to death with a golden birdcage, while Loretta screamed.

It's been unrevealed where Reinhold originated from, I would personally guess it where either Germany or Switzerland.
