History: (Spider-Man Magazine (I#13)) - The
reptile-like superhero Reptil fought the likes of Dr. Trash, Electron
and Bolder.
Comments: Created by Matt Sims.
Reptil was the product of the 1994 Spider-Man Magazine's "Create Your Own Super Hero or Super-Villain" section that ran in most earlier issues of the Magazine. In Reptil's case, he was created by then-12-year-old Matt Sims of West Monroe, Louisiana. As a fringe character, Reptil was not confirmed to exist on Earth-616 but there is equally nothing to say he did not exist on Earth-616 either...
Reptil's height & weight were impossible to approximate, as he was never seen next to any character whose height & weight had been officially determined.
Reptil's origin was never shown so it was unclear if
he was a mutated human or some sort of mutant...or any other possible
explanation for his superhuman powers such as Inhuman, etc...
While not confirmed, it seems pretty obvious that Reptil was heavily influenced by Erik Larsen's Savage Dragon character from Image Comics.
The issue of Spider-Man Magazine featuring Reptil was
not numbered but recent trade paperbacks of Adventures of Spider-Man
& Adventures of the X-Men that reprinted the comic strips from this
issue identified the issue as #13.
