History:
(Exiles I#55 - BTS) - When ancient wizard Kulan Gath attacked the city of Manhattan he used a spell to turn it into a medieval city and all citizens unaware of the change. Those outside of the city only saw a magical barrier, those who would cross would instantly be transformed and forget their former lives and identities. Kulan Gath would round up the superhuman community and use his magic to bring out the worst in them. This causes other supernatural beings from all over the world to be drawn to former New York.

(Exiles I#55 (fb) ) - One of those supernatural beings was Sister Voodoo who was captured alongside Ghost Rider (Johnny Blaze), Morbius, and Werewolf by Night (Jack Russell). Kulan Gath once again used his spell to bring out the worst in them to become his loyal servants. However, when Kulan performed his spell on Ghost Rider he made his worst mistake and accidentally brought out the demon Zarathos. Zarathos then snatched Kulan's amulet from his neck and became the new master.

(Exiles I#55 (fb) - BTS) - In this new status quo, Werewolf by Night became Zarathos' most trusted captain, Morbius part of the Night Watch and Sister Voodoo became part of Vizier's Guard. Zarathos ordered all who followed him to capture Kulan Gath as to make his master spell global.

(Exiles I#55 - BTS) - Unbeknownst to Sister Voodoo and Zarathos a group of reality-hopping heroes called the Exiles had arrived to help put Kulan Gath back on the throne.

(Exiles I#56) - Sister Voodoo was guarding Zarathos' temple alongside versions of Thor and Captain America during the day while Zarathos was resting. Not long after they were attacked by a small group of the Exiles; Morph, Namora and Mimic prompting Sister Voodoo to sound the alarm and inform the leader of the vizier's guard Jack Russell.

Sister Voodoo was ordered to gather the other members of the Vizier's Guard; Daredevil, Scarlet Witch and Storm to stop the invaders. However, after Sister Voodoo and Russell left the remaining members of the Exiles, joined by Magik and Spider-Man teleported inside the temple.

(Exiles I#57 - BTS) - Both Zarathos and Kulan Gath were defeated by the combined forces of the Great Beast Tanaraq (Heather McNeil who'd given in to her inner demon) and Russell's lover Selene. New York was restored to its former self alongside all people trapped inside the magic dome including Sister Voodoo.

Comments: Created by Tony Bedard (writer), Jim Calafiore (pencils) & Mark McKenna (inks).

Sister Voodoo's presence in the Exiles story is a strange one. Although we've seen lots of gender-bended heroes in lots of alternative reality stories she's actually the only one in this entire reality (that we know of). There is no real reason why they couldn't have used Brother Voodoo, given she's such a minor detail of the story. But when we were digging around we found that there has actually been a Sister Voodoo before! Introduced in Marvel Age Giant-Sized Annual#3 (1987) by Fred Hembeck, Sister Voodoo was a character introduced by Brother Voodoo to promote his new series. She then went on to occasionally star in other stories in Marvel Age#60, #72 and even What The--?! where she and Fred Hembeck tried to convince readers to write in asking for more stories. With that in mind the Exiles creative team would probably have known of these comics.
