History:
(Bizarre Adventures II#1/1 (fb) - BTS) - Skrull sorcerer and avid worshipper of Sl'gurt had crash landed on Earth. Unable to return home, the sorcerer made the mountain of Vanda-Gor his home and even erupted a statue of his god in the caverns. Shapeshifting into a merchant the sorcerer would regularly visit a nearby village to lure warriors to Vanda-Gor with tales of a sorcerer from beyond the stars. Hoping to free all those who lived in terror, mighty warriors set out to the mountain only to be slain and resurrected into the sorcerer's army of the living dead.
(Bizarre Adventures II#1/1 - BTS) - In reality the sorcerer lured the warriors to the mountain in the hope of finding one who held powerful Bloodstone with which he could return home.
(Bizarre Adventures II#1/1 (fb) ) - One particular day, disguised as a merchant, the sorcerer met Ulysses Bloodstone who held a shard of the Bloodstone in his chest. Like he'd done so many times before, the sorcerer filled Ulysses's head with tales of terror and convinced the warrior to investigate.
(Bizarre Adventures II#1/1) - Ulysses Bloodstone made
his way to Vanda-Gor, and after slaying the sorcerer's army of the
undead arrived in his inner cavern. The sorcerer, however, had
shapeshifted into the typical damsel in distress and lay "unconscious"
before the statue of Sl'gurt! Easily tricked, Ulysses ran to her rescue
and was caught off guard when he revealed his true Skrull-form.
The sorcerer, however, quickly became overconfident, hurling Ulysses
across the cavern, trying to pull the Bloodgem out of his chest.
Ulysses was then able to reach for his sword and beheaded the sorcerer.
With his dying breath he called Ulysses the stone's slave something
which Ulysses agreed with.
Comments: Created by Jed MacKay (writer), Chris Mooneyham (pencils, inks).
Although unrevealed it's possible that the mountain of Vanda-Gor is in fact Wundagore Mountain in the Eastern European country of Transia that first appeared in Thor I#134 (November, 1966).
