History: (Amazing Spider-Man VI#31/6 (fb) - BTS) - Dr. Shannon Stillwell was the daughter of Madame Monstrosity, a geneticist who secretly perfected the method of splicing humans with animals to create "humanimal" hybrids. Shannon's brothers Farley and Harlan both attempted to replicate their mother's achievements against her will, only to die shortly after.
(Amazing Spider-Man IV#1/6) - Chief scientific aide to Augustus Roman, Shannon Stillwell helped him design the high-tech equipment he used to drain superhumans of their powers and funnel them into himself as the armored Regent. At Roman's subterranean super-prison, the Cellar, Stillwell processed the Ox and the Walrus, putting them into tanks to have their powers drained. She was disappointed by their mundane powers but the Regent urged her to have patience.(Amazing Spider-Man IV#12) - Stillwell loaded Tombstone into the last of the containment pods. She informed Regent that they were all full. He then advised her to begin preparing for the next phase: the imprisonment of superheroes.
(Amazing Spider-Man IV#13) - After Stillwell finished processing Orka, she and the Regent watched as Spider-Man and Iron Man battled over a disagreement. Regent flew off, preparing to begin the next phase.
(Amazing Spider-Man IV#14 (fb)) - Regent captured a
number of heroes including the X-Men, the Avengers Unity Squad and the
Multiversal Squadron Supreme. Stillwell secured them all in containment pods,
struggling to keep up.
(Amazing Spider-Man IV#14) - As Regent took down the Avengers one by one, Regent conversed with Stillwell via radio. She warned him that the energy-spears she'd designed with the Ghost's technology were draining Regent's powers and that he shouldn't overtax himself. Later, as he returned to the Cellar with the defeated Thor, Stillwell placed the thunder god into a containment pod while Roman reassured her that he'd give the suit a rest for a while. Later, as she was loading Parker Industries executive Harry Lyman into a pod, as he'd discovered Roman's secret, Regent contacted her, asking for an update. Although her primary concern was him pushing himself too hard battling Spider-Man and Iron Man, she dutifully told him that Lyman was secure.
(Amazing Spider-Man IV#15) - As Regent approached the
Cellar with the defeated Spider-Man and Iron Man, he contacted
Stillwell, telling her to prepare more pods. She complained that they
were running out of room and suggested killing Lyman and Betty Brant to free
up their pods. Before she could act on her callous whim, Lyman escaped
his pod. She called the guards but soon Spider-Man arrived to rescue
him and began freeing the other captives. She flew off to stop him but
was ambushed by Spider-Man (Earth-1610's Miles Morales), who zapped her with a venom blast.
(Amazing Spider-Man VI#31/6) - Upon discovering existence of a humanimal created by her technology without her knowledge, Madame Monstrosity immediately phoned Shannon. Melody demanded to know whether Shannon was stealing her technology as her brothers had and reminded her daughter of the fate both Farley and Harlan had suffered.
(Spider-Boy II #3 (fb) - BTS) - The rich influencer Killionaire hired Taskmaster to steal the Super-Adaptoid so that Shannon Stillwell could rebuild it into armored suits with the powers of all Avengers for both Killionaire and Taskmaster.
(Spider-Boy II #3) - Taskmaster only managed to steal Super-Adaptoid's hand and Killionaire was initially furious. Dr. Stillwell showed him that she was able to rebuild that hand into the Toy Soldier, an action figure with the powers of all Avengers, remotely controlled by Killionaire's voice. Killionaire ordered it to attack the Taskmaster and after being delighted by the result, happily accepted Shannon's work.
Comments: Created by Dan Slott, Christos Gage and Paco Diaz.
Stillwell's Earth-18119 counterpart first appeared working
for that world's Regent in the Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows mini-series. At the
time, that world was part of Dr. Doom's Battleworld. The Earth-616
Stillwell appeared later. The full names of Shannon's parents are revealed in Spider-Boy (the Marvel series not the Amalgam series) #6, an issue Shannon herself neither appeared nor was mentioned in.
