History:
(X-Men II#100 (fb) - BTS) - Tartarus and the Neo lived peacefully for years until the High Evolutionary, influenced by Mr. Sinister switched off the X-gene in all of Earth's mutants, resulting in many Neo's death.

(X-Men II#101 - BTS) - Tartarus and his twin sister Elysia joined Domina and her Warclan in search of revenge against those responsible for their suffering and set her sights on the X-Men in the opening salvo of their war against humans and mutants. Tartarus and the others took up residence in the St. Michael's Church Complex in Brooklyn, what was to become Domina's stronghold.

(X-Men II#101) - Tartarus and Elysia were sent to search the Church Complex for Nightcrawler and Cecilia Reyes. Reyes, responsible for killing Jaeger (albeit in self-defense) and the heavily injured Nightcrawler had hidden themselves in the Church Complex. However, during their search they stumbled upon druglord Rufus Delgado (hidden himself in the complex while on the run from Detective Charlotte Jones and X-Man Archangel) who immediately pulled a gun on the teenagers. Unimpressed by the danger facing them, Tartarus told the criminal he was standing on Neo ground and was trespassing on his own peril. Delgado, of course saw nothing more than two harmless teenagers and took Tartarus hostage after which he left, moments later Archangel, one of the X-Men arrived, on the look-out for Delgado, although Elysia sent the X-Man in the wrong direction, right into one of her sensory illusions. While still standing in the same corridor Elysia encountered Detective Jones, searching for Delgado. But before Elysia could answer any of the Detective's questions she heard a scream and ran right into the false reality which Tartarus had created to trap Delgado.

(X-Men II#101 - BTS) - Tartarus' false reality of creating someone's greatest fear got scrambled when Detective Charlotte Jones entered. Jones then fell prey to druglord Delgado and the two merged into one hybrid winged creature causing Delgado to become the dominant one.

(X-Men II#106 (fb) - BTS) - The Warclan were shocked to find one of the Techheads brutally slain in the stronghold, a peculiar thing since the stronghold was on lockdown. Junction used her teleportation abilities to go and find Domina.

(X-Men II#106) - Junction returned with Domina to where one of the Techheads had been brutally killed, Tartarus and several other Neo were present as well. Curious to see what had happened, Domina's brother Ransome Sole and young Rax (son of Jaeger) joined the group as well. Reasoning the killer had to be either Cecilia Reyes or Detective Charlotte Jones (still trapped inside the warehouse) Domina sent Rax to find and kill them. The Neo, however, were unaware Rax had enlisted the aid of the Delgado/Jones hybrid in taking Domina down.

(X-Men: Earth's Mutant Heroes#1 - BTS) - Elysia and Tartarus of the Neo had created manifestations of the late Jaeger, Rax, Anteus and Salvo, and, joined by Junction went to San Francisco seeking revenge for their people's death on Genosha. Since most had been forced to serve in Magneto's army after which Cassandra Nova's Wild Sentinels attacked Genosha.

(Young X-Men#12) - Arriving at the Golden Gate Bridge the Neo were opposed by the Young X-Men. During the battle Tartarus fought Cipher.

(X-Men: Giant-Size#1 - BTS) - Because most Neo lost their powers after M-Day, no live Neo was born for over a year. When new mutants began surfacing, the Guardian Clan invaded Utopia to learn how mutants restarted their race, but the enigmatic Evolutionaries apparently disintegrated them and all other Neo worldwide to protect mutantkind.

The Neo received a profile in the X-Men - Earth's Mutant Heroes (2011). The Neo were a society of Homo sapiens superior, an evolutionary offshoot of humanity born with the mutant X-gene, which gave them superhuman abilities. The Neo lived in seclusion for many generations and believed they were superior to humans and other mutants.
