Powers/Abilities: The Vigil possesses enhanced strength, speed, and agility, and he is trained in combat, especially with swords and blades, which he can throw with deadly accuracy from vast distances. It is unknown if the Vigil possessed any of Daredevil's other abilities.

History:
(Daredevil I#612 (fb) - BTS) - After getting hit by a truck, Daredevil lay in surgery, during which time he had a complicated fever dream about seeking to take down the Kingpin, the elected mayor of New York City. In the dream, Kingpin hired the Vigil to stop Daredevil.
(Daredevil I#609) - The Vigil threw a blade through Daredevil's billy club line, sending the hero crashing into a building. The Vigil pointed at the hero to warn him, then faded away.
(Daredevil I#610) - When Daredevil, Elektra, Frank McGee, and Reader (with Forey the dog) kidnapped Kingpin's aid, James Wesley, Vigil threw a blade to pop the tires of their getaway car, then they confronted the Vigil in a nearby church. Vigil stated that he was there to "watch over the dying", then he battled Daredevil and Elektra, who nearly killed the Vigil before Daredevil stopped her. Before he departed, Vigil killed Wesley.
(Daredevil I#612) - The Vigil attacked Daredevil in the hospital, where the hero was receiving treatment for a gunshot wound to his leg. Daredevil threw a blade at Vigil, drawing blood, then he fled through the window, choosing not to pursue the fight. After Kingpin lost a trial to Daredevil, Vigil attacked the hero again, and they sparred on the rooftops until Daredevil unmasked the Vigil, finding his own face underneath the mask. Daredevil realized he'd been in the hospital dreaming the entire adventure against the Vigil.

During Daredevil's dream, lots of consequential things happened, including the death of James Wesley and the exposure of Kingpin's fraud in court. Many super heroes made appearances in the dream, most notably Elektra.
