History:
(Our Love Story#2/2 (fb)) - The romantic-at-heart
Alyce White was employed as a secretary and assigned to junior executive
Steve Newton. Although she was initially unsure of her suitability for
the position, White and Newton were instantly attracted to each other.
The two rapidly became friends, sharing lunches and an unchallenged
wage raise. She soon fell in love with him as they shared more time
together with romantic trysts outside of work. Despite melodramatic
doubts, she enjoyed each moment. Unbeknownst to her, Newton planned to
propose marriage and secretly met with his sister to select a ring, but
White saw the two together and imagined betrayal. She tearfully
resolved to end the relationship the next day and quickly organized a meeting in the
park where she intended to break up with him.
(Our Love Story#2/2) - She felt numb and forlorn as
she walked to Newton to break off the relationship, but he interrupted
her with his marriage proposal, revealing that he'd spoken to his sister
about it. Greatly relieved, White embraced and kissed Newton in the
park.
Comments: Created by Stan Lee (writer), John Buscema (pencils), John Romita (inks).
This story was soon reprinted in Our Love Story (same series) #14
(December, 1971) and My Love
#35 (May, 1975); no changes to hair color, just clothing color.
These romance stories often had the flavor of the time in which they were written, and nothing else to tie them into Marvel's sliding timescale. As such, it's likely that the stories took place at the time of publication rather than being part of the sliding timescale.

Steve Newton was a junior executive at a firm where
Alyce White had just been hired as his secretary. Instant mutual
attraction led to lunch dates, romantic trysts and more. Having been
engaged once before, he was cautious about commitment, but was smitten
with White. Soon, he spoke to his sister
about marrying his secretary and secretly had her help select a ring.
But White
quietly saw him with his sister and misunderstood what was going on.
Feeling betrayed, White silently and tearfully resolved to end the
relationship, and the two met in a park, where he'd been smoking and
feeding squirrels. He interrupted her melodrama and proposed to her.
